Building Software & Blockchain Systems | Bringing intentional privacy to @noct_finance | @Polymarket sub office

[DANIEL| @danielx2d_]

Privacy in DeFi isn’t about escaping accountability, it’s about intentional disclosure.
On-chain lending must verify what matters without exposing every borrower’s balance sheet.
The future of DeFi needs verifiability and privacy by design.

[NoctFinance @Noct_finance]

$172B locked in DeFi.

DefiLlama’s latest total-value-locked snapshot puts DeFi TVL at $171.99 billion as of 25 August 2026, 00:00 UTC up 19.8% from 18 August.

This is more than a market number. It represents an enormous and growing amount of capital interacting with transparent, programmable financial infrastructure.

Transparency helps protocols verify rules. But as lending positions grow, public-by-default data can also reveal more than a protocol needs to know: position size, collateral ratio, and liquidation thresholds.

The next phase of DeFi infrastructure is not less verifiability. It is more deliberate verifiability—proving the conditions that matter without automatically publishing every underlying financial detail.

Capital can be on-chain without every position becoming public.

Special thanks to the @HackenProof Team and Dual Defense Audit programme for enabling the ZENDEX ecosystem to participate in their professionally curated, globally open and transparent community security review.

We continue to work hand in hand with Hacken's full stack audit procedures on our path to ZENDEX mainnet.

Today we held the first 1:1 meetings with some of the founders from the @horizenglobal Acceleration Season startups.

Together with @santinomiele, we spoke with each of them to get to know them better, and what they are building is worth sharing.

- Gacha Galaxy (@GachaGalaxyHQ): onchain authentication for physical collectibles. We spoke with Matthew, who explained how 3D printed fakes are pushing dealers to verify their cards onchain.

- MetaMe: identity and access infrastructure for both humans and agents. @DeleAtanda walked us through a stablecoin pegged to the US penny, designed so agents can transact below a cent.

- NoctFinance (@Noct_finance): confidential lending built on zero knowledge proofs. @danielx2d_ showed us how a position stays private while the loan still settles onchain.

- DetentLabs (@Detentlabs): transaction security for Web3. @thatjunyu explained how their detection pipeline inspects a transaction and flags it as suspicious before the assets ever leave the wallet.

Very excited about this cohort and what’s coming up in the next few weeks. @crecimientoar

Privacy should give users more control without making applications harder to use.

Horizen Builder Ecosystem Fund is looking to support projects that are building in that direction.

[DANIEL| @danielx2d_]

@smilewithkhushi @horizenglobal Love seeing resources go toward private onchain finance. @Noct_finance will be the center of the conversation soon.

[NoctFinance @Noct_finance]

Public collateral is a public balance sheet.

On most on-chain lending markets, borrowing can make key parts of a position publicly readable: position size, collateral ratio, and liquidation price.

The protocol needs to verify that a loan is properly collateralised. It does not need the whole internet to know who holds what-or where a borrower's pain threshold sits.

Those are two different requirements. Yet public ledgers often satisfy both with the same public record.

The more interesting design question is how to keep the rule verifiable while reducing unnecessary exposure of the underlying position.

Rules must be verifiable. Positions do not need to be public by default.

You don't need a $2M pre-seed to start building deep tech.

When I started building @laminalabs (@ycombinator P26), I had no funding, no team of 10 engineers, and a vision that required serious GPU compute and AI infrastructure.

So I did what any desperate founder would do. I cold emailed.

I wrote to @agupta , who was building the YC student credits program. I told him I was going all in on building a deep tech project, why it needed serious compute, and the commitment I was putting behind it.

I sent that email at 10:50 AM on November 14th.
He replied at 10:52 AM.

Two minutes. That reply changed everything.
Thank you Ankit, that early access was the unlock.

From there, it was months of grinding through architecture after architecture. Rewriting core pipelines more times than I can count. Shipping, breaking, rebuilding. Just me, Claude Code, and Codex running in parallel, the closest thing an early founder has to a 10-person engineering team, except they never call in sick.

AI coding agents are the single greatest force multiplier available to founders right now. I'm not exaggerating. The leverage is unreal.

Here's the thing most people get wrong: you don't need a massive round to get something real off the ground. You need compute credits, the right AI tools, and the willingness to grind through hundreds of iterations until the architecture clicks.

If you're a student or early founder sitting on an idea that feels too ambitious, just start. Email the people building the programs. Apply for every credit you can find. Reach out to people you think won't respond. They will.

The infrastructure to build serious things as a solo or two person team has never been more accessible.

The funding comes after you've already started building something real.

Because someone gave me that first unlock, I want to do the same: I'm giving away 5 x $50 Claude Code credits.

And whoever ships the best project with that gets $200 in Claude credits from me personally. I know firsthand how much potential $200 in credits has for a builder who's willing to grind.

Just comment below with the link to the coolest thing you've built. I will DM you myself.
