1/ 🚨 New publication alert!
I’m very excited to share my recent article, now published Open Access in @Res_Pol 🎉
A very special thanks to @PeejLoewen, whose comment on my poster helped spark this project!
Here’s a short 🧵:

References to "tactical" nuclear weapons in this otherwise great @guardian story by @hugolowell are misleading. The US would drop a strategic B61-11 nuclear earth penetrator with a yield of 300 or 400 kilotons. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were 15 and 21 kt.

I say this because people often wrongly refer to "low-yield bunker busters" that don't exist. EPWs are high-yield weapons that produce significant fallout capable of killing tens of thousands of people. References to "tactical" nuclear weapons may reinforce that misperception.
**New Book Alert** Excited to share that my CUP Elements with @daninedal , "Tip-toeing through the Tulips with Congress, " is available open access for the next four weeks!

My view on this event: President Yoon’s pure stupidity was unfortunate, but it unintentionally highlighted the resilience of South Korean democracy. The National Assembly stopped the leader’s wrong decision. The system of check and balance worked once again. This was the first..
I posted on the other site. A few thoughts here:
1. It is so outrageous I am having trouble getting my head around it. I was in Korea in 1987 and I remember martial law. This is one of the dumbest moves by a Korean president in its history.
2. Yoon's fate is sealed...
Misogyny is, unfortunately, alive and well!
@Madison_Schramm, Lori Crasnic & I find that women heads of government are more likely to be accused of corruption due to pervasive gendered beliefs about women and corruption. In @CJPS_RCSP https://t.co/FpfJKbFTr6
Beating a dead horse I know, but offset markets continue to expand as reports of bogus credits continue at a steady clip.
Offsets are incompatible with a 1.5 degree world.

@russianforces That said, its entirely possible that the RU-CN deal has secret clauses that allow for some Pu separation for weapons. wouldn't be the first time an ostensibly civilian nuclear cooperation agreement includes a secret military dimension
@russianforces 2/2 i agree that the stuff coming out of DC (open source, anyway) implicitly or explicitly assumes new Pu production in fast breeders which ignores the limitations you mentioned as well as the huge projected demand for U and Pu fuel for civilian reactors.
He deposited a fraudulent payroll check in my husband’s name and withdrew $5000 in cash that the teller happily double-counted right in front of the security cameras.
Yesterday around 4 pm, a guy named Eugene walked into a #Rogers store in Edmonton, Alberta, claimed he was my husband and that he lost his phone and convinced the #Rogers employee to switch my husband’s phone number over to him.
