Sorry. More of an anxiety vent than expanding topic. I just keep seeing exec shenanigans in these kind of stories go unchecked.

@rjs You’re so right and this is kind of a topic change, but I’ve been in many meetings where “juicy” ideas get shot down or ignored by execs. Then the same execs complain about incremental thinking.

So I get worried about the later conclusion of discovering "who" is on doing well.

Each time I hear something dumb about X/Twitter leadership I take an effort to trim following and find alternatives to follow them.

Feels corny, but the X might be what gets me the rest of the way out.

I’m no longer convinced that we should be prioritizing velocity over quality. It seems to me that baseline human behavior (esp our rewards architecture) simply cannot resist the urge to do mediocre work “on time”—and never iterate. It simply doesn’t work.

I think this is generally true. Here's the catch for local governments....

Do cars first and accommodate pedestrians second, you'll go broke. Walkability as a side fetish is mostly a financial loser.

Put people first, then accommodate cars, you'll be super wealthy.
