We're proud to share Dr. Matthew Rettig received a VA Clinical Cancer Research Center grant to build a precision oncology hub for veterans in the Southwest, expanding access to clinical trials & advanced care for those who have sacrificed so much. https://t.co/lIpQgqmItL
Big Cancer Breakthrough
UCLA Scientists Develop Antibody That Hunts and Destroys Aggressive Cancers
UCLA scientists have developed a powerful new cancer fighting antibody, DUNP19, that can both detect and destroy some of the deadliest, most treatment resistant tumors like osteosarcoma and glioblastoma.
This breakthrough "radiotheranostic" approach uses the same antibody for imaging and treatment - mild radiation to spot tumors, and stronger doses to wipe them out.
DUNP19 hunts down a protein called LRRC15, found on aggressive cancer cells but rarely in healthy tissue, allowing ultra precise targeting with minimal side effects.
In mice, this therapy stopped tumor growth, extended survival, and reprogrammed the tumor environment to make it vulnerable to immune attack, supercharging the effects of immunotherapy.
The first human clinical trial for patients with metastatic osteosarcoma is set to launch later this year. 👀
UCLA researchers say this could mark a major leap forward in fighting cancers once thought untreatable.
A team of researchers led by @davidulmert has identified a promising new treatment strategy that can detect, kill & reprogram aggressive, treatment-resistant tumors like osteosarcomas & glioblastoma.

Human kallikrein 2 (encoded by the KLK2 gene; KLK2) is a novel target expressed in prostate cancer cells. KLK2 pipeline — from radiopharmaceuticals to bispecifics and CAR-T —underscores an exciting era where KLK2-based modalities may transform prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.

🔎Phase 1 results of JNJ-78278343 (pasritamig) in mCRPC? A first in class bispecific T-cell engager targeting human kallikrein2... a specific prostate antigen
✅Remarkable safety profile differentiated from prior T-cell engages with/ low rates of TRAE and infrequent CRS (8.9%, all grade 1 and did not require tocilizumab)
✅Achieved durable disease control and rPFS that compare to historical data in heavily pretreated mCRPC

There have been calls by some Muslim leaders to boycott Jewish products in solidarity with Palestine!
We would like to help the Muslim world in their boycott, and as such, here is a list of things that need to be avoided...

EBRT increased AR pathway activity + [89Zr]11B6 uptake in PC bearing mice + [89Zr]11B6 uptake correlated with #hK2 protein levels. Further evaluation provided, [89Zr]11B6-PET imaging could be a potential monitoring tool for EBRT (or other treatments targeting AR axis/hK2)
[89Zr]11B6-#PET imaging as a potential tool to monitor treatment response in #ProstateCancer: @davidulmert et al. show that #hK2 expression is a proxy of #AndrogenReceptor activity, which can be detected by non-invasive [89Zr]11B6-PET imaging https://t.co/tWUyI18YIL
