@davidmillzy@David_Ornstein@gunnerblog@ChrisDHWaugh@TheAthleticFC The continuous stockpiling of players by the so-called “legacy clubs” is getting beyond a joke, as is their ability to do so. How many players do these clubs actually need?
Meanwhile everyone else has to feed off scraps.
@con_169@LukeEdwardsTele Wages - we can’t match the top clubs, so when they come in for the same players we’re never going to be the chosen club. It’s as simple as that,
@The__Farmster@themagicbeatle They won 2 more points in the league phase having played Young Boys, Bayern, Bologna, Brugge, Juve, Leipzig, Monaco and Celtic, then beat Brugge again in the knockout phase.
Compare that to our fixtures this season.
@HarridenceGary@Robbo20399@theawayfans Not the issue - games will overrun massively and grassroots pitches often have three or four games fixtured on a Saturday and Sunday.
How are teams/coaches/refs/parents meant to know the time their game will end up kicking off?
@Kitson67 Football isn’t just played at professional level. Grassroots games generally have one person controlling the game. They struggle to officiate as it is without having to worry about stopping and starting a watch every 30 seconds or so.
@NortyNorm44@BrettL02@David_Ornstein@TheAthleticFC 20/20 hindsight.
Pretty sure you know as well as all other Newcastle fans that we tried to sign at least 5 forwards before having to settle on Woltemade/Wissa.
Wissa/Elanga both signed on the back of great seasons. Ramsey/Thiaw have been decent.
Thirty years on from his infamous "love it" moment, King Kev explains exactly how Newcastle blew a title that should have been theirs
🗣️ "Sir Alex crossed a line, and therein lays the difference between me and him, that’s how he won 13 league titles, and I won none"
