Very proud to be part of this groundbreaking study describing stem-like CD8+ population that drives #T1D. Amazing work led by Sofia Gearty from the phenomenal @SchietingerLab and our own team Friederike Dündar and Paul Zumbo from @abcBioinfo@WeillCornell.

If you conduct or use single cell RNA-seq data from both humans and mice in your lab, this preprint releases a very useful tool called scVital. Developed by @dbetel (with a cameo by @TuomasTammela) scVital enables cross species interrogation and integration of cell states, and is benchmarked for batch correction. While cancer tissues are the obvious choice for species agnostic state integration (for example see #PancreaticCancer mouse & human scRNA-seq overlay below), scVital can be applied to any normal tissue for state & cell type integration across species (see supplementary data for examples). At first look, this totally beats looking at list of genes on overlapping Venn diagrams!
2 papers in a row! We have a new story published in Communications Biology. Working with @DrJamesLo and @dbetel labs at Weill Cornell, we jointly revealed disparate and conserved cardiac and extracardiac inflammatory responses upon heart injury. https://t.co/kkRLRK7FJJ
Several years in the making (and aging), @Xueqian_Zhuang 's study on aging is out today @Nature. She finds, surprisingly, that aging suppresses tumorigenesis and stemness in the lung by promoting a functional iron insufficiency in the alveolar epithelium. https://t.co/kKbQc2hMSf
👏 Congratulations to Dr. Deb Schrag, Chair of the @MSK_DeptOfMed, and Dr. @studerl, Director of the Center for Stem Cell Biology at MSK, who were elected to the @theNAMedicine, one of the highest honors bestowed upon scientists worldwide.

Paper out!📢 @AnupriyaSingha9 and #HannahStyers from the lab find acute resistance to targeting KRAS in pancreas cancer is surprisingly driven by a classical epithelial state. Co-targeting classical cells and KRAS augments response - clinically important! https://t.co/6U2cDXk9Ah
Congrats to @NatSaurat. Fantastic work demonstrating inhibition of neddylation increases aging and selective loss of neurons. A major step forward in stem cell modeling of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
Super excited to see this study finally published after many years of work. Congrats to @NatSaurat for the heroic effort and to all the many amazing collaborators who made this work possible. Also big thanks to our funders particularly the JPB foundation, NIA and @ASAP_Research.
How to trigger age-related features in hPSC neurons? In a CRISPR screen @NatSaurat identified neddylation inhibition as a tool to trigger hallmarks of aging in neurons and selective degeneration in AD or PD but not isogenic control neurons. @cellstemcell https://t.co/vycsfPED6g
Congratulations to @studerl@TaeWanKim0 SoYeon Koo and many others who contributed to this exciting paper. A monumental effort and a step forward for stem cell-based therapy in Parkinson's disease.
Why do most dopamine neurons die shortly after transplantation and how can we fix it? Excited to see our story out at Cell. Congrats to @TaeWanKim0 & SoYeon Koo @MSKCancerCenter and to all the other collaborators who made this work possible. https://t.co/X2ZjkWGHQT

My office will display every last one of the innocent Israelis kidnapped by Hamas until they are safely returned home.
We won't stop sharing their stories until then.
A Jewish man was violently assaulted by a mob of pro Palestinian supporters at a Chicago area (Skokie) protest yesterday.
Every single one of the individuals involved must be identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law @skokiepolice
@samaberman@nnn_Netanel_nnn Every high school senior and their families thinking of applying to Cornell should see this. He might be your professor. Is this the kind of person you want as a teacher? @CornellHistory – you cannot afford to sit this one out. Your silence will echo ! This is your colleague.
What kind of sick bastards kill dogs for pleasure? Bonita was an 8-year-old Labrador, a big bundle of cuteness with kind eyes that charmed everyone who met her. During the terrorist attack in Israel, one of Hamas's terrorists saw her innocently approaching him, and in exchange, he shot her 3 times, killing her. He later posted the video of her murder on Instagram, taken from his body camera. But so help me God, eventually we will find him and avenge Bonita's death. If you agree, please share #HamasisISIS
