Massive step closer to fault tolerant #quantum computing by @DCVC-backed @Atom_Computing—a world first on a neutral atom system at this scale.

This proof, on commercially viable Atom systems capable of over 1000 qubits (with a clear, near-term roadmap to orders of magnitude more), shipping and running today, was one of the many breakthroughs that compelled the Commerce Department to support Atom Computing with $100 million.

Two decades of quiet dedication by @DCVC to technically-demanding, nationally essential technology when many of our peers were distracted with other things, turns out to matter.

Today, the US government, via @CommerceGov under Secretary @howardlutnick's leadership, committed $2B to ensure #quantumcomputing and #quantum technology dominance for America and her allies.

I'm proud that DCVC's consistent investment leadership in this sector for more than 2 decades meant that the majority of the 9 companies announced are ones we invested in and support, typically from earliest days.

It's worth highlighting @Atom_Computing, the recipient of $100M, to accelerate their massively scalable, error-corrected quantum computing architecture. Atom deserves this support, as their revenue from demonstrably useful systems is larger than that of many public technology companies, already.

I also want to personally thank Dr. @PrinehaN for her extraordinary work not just on behalf of DCVC, but on for America's quantum technology leadership overall.
