While @AbiyAhmedAli destroys Addis Ababa's soul with LED lights that make beautiful and charming Addis look like a teenager's room and land grabs for his circle, 30 million Ethiopians starve. Ethnic #Amharas are killed by taxpayer-funded drones, and struggling civil servants are forced into meaningless cleaning campaigns. Is this the prosperity we were promised?

s usual @GOVUK is organizing a fundraising in the name of helping #Ethiopia. With a heritage of slavery, colonization; Funding a Genocide is NOT a problem thé western world. @EU_Commission has killed the investigation to cover up the #AmharaGenocide and now they are funding it
"Eleven Ethiopian diaspora civic groups have wrote a letter urging the IMF to reconsider giving the Ethiopian government additional financial aid and instead link financial aid to conditions that prompt the Ethiopian government to cease hostilities, refrain from targeting civilians, and resolve the current crisis through political means."
The group said it is not against humanitarian aid such as food and medicine.

It would be a grave mistake and irresponsible for #IMF to release fund to the fascist @AbiyAhmedAli regime that continue to strike civilians in #amhara region with drone and other weapons of mass destruction. #IMF should listen to the concerns raised by millions Ethiopians and the U.S. government. The recent Bloomberg article explains several reasons why @AbiyAhmedAli regime should not have access to IMF financing. #NoIMFfundtoAbiyAhmed

As a lot of us celebrate “Victory Day” in Ethiopia and in the Disapora, I want people to realize that the whole of Europe did not take the defeat of the Italians laying down. The Europeans and the west came back to Ethiopia in later years in the form of missionaries, NGO’s, humanitarian orgs and and other mechanisms committed to using psychological warfare to turn Ethiopians against each other. The conflicts of the past several years have involved western backed “Liberation Movements” and government leaders who have sought to persecute the Amhara ethnic group and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. These two entities top the list of factors that contributed to the loss of the Battle of Adwa. The collective west couldn’t show a 2000 year old version of Christianity in Africa that practiced a faith that completely incorporated the concept of justice that encouraged armed resistance and combat. Nor could it show an African leader who unified every ethnic group in the country to fight European colonialism and imperialism and defeat it. Even now, to this day, Evangelical Christians in America DESIPSE Ethiopian Orthodoxy and seek to undermined and destroy it using evangelicals in Ethiopia. News articles published even last week reveal a taught hatred of Ethnic Amharas because of who the Europeans believed were “the enemy of white people”. As soon as all of our Amhara, Oromo, Tigrayan, Agew, Afar and other brothers and sisters realize they have been turned against each other by the losers of Adwa, we will all thrive.
Emperor Menelik II, the African ruler who Saved Ethiopia From Colonialism by defeating Italian army sent to conquer his empire.
___
Emperor Menelik II original name (Sahle Maryam) was born on 17 August 1844. His father was King Haile Melekot of Shewa and his mother was a court servant who married Malekot shortly after Menelik was born, it has been claimed that further back he was related to the Solomonid line of emperors who ruled Ethiopia between 1268 and 1854. King Malekot had laid it clearly that he was going to be succeeded by his son Menelik, but when he died in 1855, the vigorous emperor of Ethiopia, Tewodros II, launched an attack on Shewa and conquered it. Menelik was captured and taken to the emperor’s mountain stronghold,Amba Magdela.
In 1865, Menelik escaped so that he could claim back Shewa. Bezabeh who was appointed governor of Shewa by Tewodros II, attempt to raise an army against Menelik but failed; thousands of Shewans rallied to the flag of the son of king Melekot and even Bezabeh's own soldiers deserted him for the returning prince. Menelik entered Shewa and proclaimed himself King. When Tewodros II died in 1868, Menelik developed aspirations for power, with the aim of being the Emperor. But he was not the only claimant and had to submit first to Tekle Giorgis (1868-72) and Yohannes IV (1872–89). Before Yohannes died fighting Sudanese. By that time Menelik had emerged as the strongest man in Ethiopia and was able to assume the imperial crown for which he had waited so long.
Just as Menelik II was crowned, Italians had settled along the Red Sea coast, establishing a colony at Eritrea. The Ethiopians and Italians initially reached an agreement, the Treaty of Wichale, but the Italian interpretation of the agreement, gave Italy a protectorate over Ethiopia.
When Menelik II learned of this, he renounced the treaty, which resulted in one of the greatest battles in the history of Africa—the Battle of Adwa. on March 1, 1896. Italy's army was defeated and Menelik's empire was at once accepted by the European powers as a real political force. Credit: Black Dairy.
