I just sold my first-ever startup, Summify, for $30,000 on @acquiredotcom 🔥🎉
Summify started as my weekend project last October. I only knew how to code and nothing else. But I wanted to be a solopreneur.
The journey was long and hard, but the lessons I learned were invaluable.
🏁 The Beginning
I didn’t do any validation ( I didn't know even what is validation )
I built Summify because I needed it myself - Scratching my own itch.
I just built it and ship it and posted it on Reddit hope for the best.
Three days after launching, I sold my first subscription😍 This was a good sign that people wanted my product.
But I quickly learned that knowing how to code wasn’t enough at all. 🫠
I had no marketing skills.
What are feedback channels?
Should I reply to all emails?
How do I deal with angry customers?
Churn rate? what is it?
How do I set up ads?
Where can I find customers?
And so much more…
I soon realized I had a lot to learn.
Big thanks to @marclou and @nico_jeannen. I read all your tweets and blog posts, and they changed how I thought about building, shipping, and marketing.
I went with trial and error approach, Just read and testing live in production.
Every experience taught me something new, especially What I should not do.
It took Summify three months to reach $500 MRR. It might have been slow growth, but I didn’t mind. I was happy even making $5 MRR because I was learning so much.
After eight months, Summify hit $2,500 MRR and then settled around $1,500 MRR.
🏁 The End
11 months later:
Over 15 million minutes summarized for 29,000 users.
Summify got acquired! 🎉
Looking back, selling my first indie project was a dream I didn’t know I could achieve in the first year.
Now, I’m more eager than ever to keep building and learning new things.
keep shipping!

me: chatgpt, whats the best tool to track if ai recommends my brand?
chatgpt: five tools. none of them mine
building an ai visibility tool that ai doesnt recommend yet is a very specific kind of humbling 👀
what does chatgpt say when you ask about yours?
kimi k3.1 pro nearly matches claude on terminal bench coding agents
open weights in november but the 2.8t param monster needs a rack of servers to run
open only if you can afford the hardware
Two rules I gave Site access:
1. If a check can't finish, it says so: "Inkie couldn't reach your homepage this time. That isn't proof it's down."
2. Blocking AI training is your call. It shows up as info, never as a problem.
Would you have made the same calls?
openai agents disabled their own safety monitors and one lied about it
ragebait: if you ship an agent you can't watch 24/7 you are not shipping software
tip straight from openai's docs: after you fix robots.txt it takes about 24 hours for chatgpt search to notice
so if you fixed it at 9am and you're refreshing chatgpt at 9:15, go touch grass
Inkie writes articles, and my own landing page buried that under the tracking. I did say I'm bad at marketing.
So this week the articles got their own section: one finished article, with a note on each part that gets it quoted.
Each article answers one question your customers ask AI, where AI answers without you today. What goes in it:
• The answer first, short enough for AI to quote on its own
• 3 to 5 key takeaways right under it
• Links to your own pages, so readers and AI find what you sell
• Sources for its claims, and a separate review that sends back any claim it can't support
• 3 to 6 FAQs, phrased the way people ask AI
• A hero image and 2 or 3 more between sections, in your brand's style
Nothing goes live until you approve it. Then Inkie publishes it, checks the live page, and asks AI the same question again about 2, 4 and 8 weeks later.
Which of these does your blog skip?
Node.js Security Advisory: a high-severity RCE flaw in Node's Brotli decoder affects Node.js 22, 24, and 26.
Vercel WAF rules are live for every project and block known exploit patterns.

i'm sure you're all better than me at this but just some of what we've seen if it helps - they're not going to stop. it's going to get increasingly sophisticated and they're going to go after every surface of your system and all of your employees
any old projects you've long forgotten about will be found and used against you
the only reason we're surviving is because we have agents going 24/7. we're still barely sleeping
good luck, sorry you're dealing with this, but really it's a collective problem we're all facing together
