Associate Professor @TelAvivUniv studying #GBM and pediatric brain tumors using state-of-the art mouse models, focusing on tumor cell plasticity and #TME.
Happy to attend the #2nd Zelig Eshhar Memorial Symposium. Zelig was my PhD mentor, and it’s wonderful to reconnect with friends from his lab while attending with members of my team, closing a circle and continuing his legacy through our work on CAR T cells.
To understand how the brain forms memories, feelings and behaviours has long been a dream for researchers.
Karl Deisseroth, Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel have been awarded the 2026 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries leading to optogenetics, which makes it possible to switch on, or off, the activity of individual nerve cells in a living brain.
This method is now being used in laboratories around the world to reveal the brain’s mysteries.

Our work shows that GBM tumors can arise from differentiated oligodendrocytes in a CNP-Cre mouse model. Mice with oligodendrocyte-derived GBM display early-onset motor deficits, and these tumors exhibit an altered myelin-related transcriptome.
A coffee with a friend @barak_boaz58635 led to a great collaboration! ☕️🤝 We're excited to share our latest publication in @CellReports :
