Congrats to @langchain on raising a $125M Series B! 🦜☀️
3 years ago (a month before ChatGPT launched!), @hwchase17 released LangChain as a popular "get started" booster pack. It was the first LLM agent package to really take off. As the agent space matured and changed rapidly, the framework has gone through significant controversy and growing pains. Harrison listened to the hard feedback and persisted.
Today the company maintains a trio of category leading products across the full agent engineering spectrum:
* LangChain (80M monthly downloads) for high-level agent development. Today's 1.0 release is written on top of LangGraph's runtime, bridging the rapid-start energy of O.G. LangChain with the low-level customization and control that developers need today
* LangGraph (12M monthly downloads) for low-level agent orchestration framework and runtime, used to power production agents at companies like @Uber@Klarna@LinkedIn and @jpmorgan
* LangSmith (traces growing 12x y-o-y) as a developer workbench for observability, evals, and deployment, used by companies such as @clay@Cloudflare@Replit@TrustVanta@Rippling@mercor_ai.
And lots more in development across memory, natural-language agent building, and more.
Congrats to @hwchase17@ankush_gola11@j_schottenstein on today's milestone. I admire your vision and resilience and am honored to be a part of your journey @sequoia ❤️
@twilio I would share my embarrassing livejournal username, but it may still live on the internet, and I don't want anyone to find it @TimSchraeder @streetsmeeps@Caitep
Happening now! Starting with a convo with @Erin_R_Reilly & CNN correspondent + nonprofit founder @VanJones68 on the future of technology in the social impact sector.
So stoked for my conversation with Chris Hoffman over at @NRC_Norway on how they are helping 650,000 people fleeing the war in Ukraine and using tech to tailor the support to what person needs. In Chris's words, "personalization is dignity." 🥲 https://t.co/Q96EiPMfIG
Excited to announce @makelogio's $3M seed funding, led by @Vas from @Accel!
Couldn't have imagined a better partner for us on this journey to modernize release communication for today's fastest-shipping teams!

This is consistent with what I’ve heard from my hometown in PA. Some high school friends hunted. We got off school for the first day of hunting season. Mascot was a mountaineer with a musket. 🤦🏻♀️ These friends want background checks & assault rifle bans. It just makes sense.
A hunter told me he’s never giving up the right to harvest animals — but he thinks 18-year-olds should be prohibited from buying guns.
“He should never have been able to get that gun,” he said. “We should raise the age limit. We should do stronger background checks.”
I don't know who needs to hear this, when I think about tech companies whose people keep working to have a positive impact on the world, @segment just comes up again and again and again.

Thanks for listening to my TED talk. 😂 (Trying out these threads on biz ideas.) Who else is great at overinvesting in customer success and talent? Of course, I'm biased, but @twilio is a great example of social impact.
Most companies underinvest in 4 departments that can have an outsized impact on the business IMHO.
Instead, companies consider them service organizations and cost centers even though overinvesting would bend up the growth curve.
Spoiler alert: Marketing isn't one of them.⬇️
