I enjoyed Omarchy on my old Macbook Pro so much that I wiped my hand-rolled Arch + Hyprland desktop and installed Omarchy.

Admittedly getting the three monitors to work properly took a little bit of work, but that's mostly due to personal preference.

Antithesis and yet ironically the original ethos of the community.

I find Omarchy to be open, collaborative, diverse, opinionated, and welcoming of newcomers. All characteristics I would have used to describe the Linux Community.

It's that true spirit that will win them over.

The omarchy community is the antithesis of the traditional linux communities and like it or not, it is why it will win and finally bring linux to the masses

@tcballard Great writeup. I've had Claude make some tweaks to Omarchy for me, and the results were amazing.

I like your tips on planning and being explicit about not making changes. I've fallen into the trap where I ask it about something and it jumps 10 steps ahead with a solution.

I've been using linux for over 20 yrs, and I used to hand roll my own version of Arch, Hyprland, LazyVim, etc.

I installed Omarchy last week to try it and am absolutely loving it. Nothing is stopping me from tweaking everything as before, and Omarchy took care of integrating so many great tools.

Anyone turning their nose up at Omarchy never cared about the Linux Community.

Omarchy is opening my mind.

I use https://t.co/WUlxG41wf4's glow for reading markdown at the cli.

Claude configured the theme for glow to change when I change my Omarchy theme. Its solution was elegant and took 5 min.

It would have taken me hours to figure that out on my own.

IMO @KeychronMK is excellent and has many options at various price points if you're not looking to have to make numerous decisions on case, baseplate, switches, keycaps, etc. You can still do some pro-level stuff with layers and such.

I love the Keychron Q8 (top in my pic) with the banana switches (not high-pitched clicky but definitely not silent).
