@sainsburys a MASSIVE thank you to the driver who delivered our shopping tonight. Our road was closed today due to water leak repairs but he parked by the barrier, loaded our crates on his trolley and wheeled them in the dark down the hill to our house. Amazing service.
Breaking News: Taliban issued a new ruling in Balkh province, Afghanistan, stating that women are not allowed to visit male doctors !!

Imagine if we decided to tackle child abuse by deporting children. I thoroughly support the goal of smashing the trafficking rings, but the Rwanda plan criminalises the trafficked, not the traffickers.
Here's my piece for the @thetimes today.

Cruising along the #bridgewatercanal and a chap on the towpath said: "Just after the next bridge, there's a terrapin sitting on an armchair." And so there was. #random@CanalRiverTrust
This on par if not better than the Olympic James Bond scene.
The Queen having tea with Paddington - incredible that at 96 and after 70 years on the throne she still has the power to surprise #platinumpartyatthepalace
Over the past year I've attended 20+ school leader events & asked 1000s of you to discuss 3 questions
• When did you realise the pandemic was going to be BAD?
• What was your worst professional moment during it?
• What was your best moment?
Here's what I've learned:🧵

5 Incentive for govt to reduce covid prevalence
It's been 6 long years - and I can't believe I can FINALLY share this photo.
Nazanin is now in the air flying away from 6 years of hell in Iran.
My heart goes out to Gabriella and Richard, as her long journey back home to them gets closer by the minute.

@yearlstone@chrischirp Every covid patient in hospital, even admitted for "for something completely different" is a strain on the NHS, needing to be cared for in a different area to non-covid patients, extra PPE, & just as much a risk as "primary covid" patients to every staff member caring for them.
A Ukrainian pianist played Chopin in the ruins of her house after it was badly damaged by Russian shelling. Iryna Manyukina is seen playing the piano in her home in Bila Tserkva, not far from Kyiv, on March 5. A Russian shell exploded nearby. No one from the family was injured.
This beautiful family doesn’t exist any more. Mykhailo Soloshenko, his wife Inna and son Yefrem were killed when a Russian tank fired on their car. Mykhailo was a Sumy University graduate - they confirmed his passing and released this photo.
When a disease becomes "endemic," it may still cause suffering and death -- as malaria and tuberculosis do, for example.
@DrMikeRyan explains that even if #COVID19 becomes endemic, it will remain important to reduce infections, suffering and death.
