@MikeyG_NY@therealgonch@StreetsblogNYC Dogs are allowed off leash in Central Park from 6-9 am. Accident happened at 8:20. But just like when you’re driving a car, shit happens. As the operator of a dangerous vehicle you need to be ready when the unexpected happens.
@MikeyG_NY@therealgonch@StreetsblogNYC the dog was allowed to be off leash. what if it had been a child, should they also be leashed? It’s funny how cyclists never want to take any accountability for anything. First it was cars are too dangerous, then it’s peds need to be extra careful, and now it’s the dogs fault.
@StreetsblogNYC Many bike riders using riding apps including those provided by one of your sponsors Lyft have violated traffic laws for years, with little accountability. Wonder why you’re not outraged about that?
@MikeyG_NY@StreetsblogNYC So when the crash involves a bike the pedestrian should take extra care when crossing, but when it involves a car the driver is unequivocally always at fault
@2dare2doious@Megmd514@NYC_DOT@Uber@lyft And cars do a better job transporting ppl that are not able to access public transportation for physical reasons or when needing to transport or deliver large/heavy things. Public transportation does a pretty good job covering most of the city and for short trips walking works
@nyc_evsa@ShaunAbreu@NYC_DOT Was walking through central park last weekend with my dogs near Turtle Pond. My lower to the ground senior dog was almost hit by reckless bikers not adhering to the cross walks at least 5 times.
@B840D0o@ardit33@SamAntar@NYCMayor@TransAlt Or get rid of the bike lanes which account for 1% of the cities transportation and there will be plenty of room for both cars and trucks.
