@koustubh_sharma Our team has conducted several surveys at the site of release, and the study results revealed the area has an abundant prey source with adequate habitat suitability. Based on the tracking data so far, he has not shown a tendency of leaving. #EncounterUncia

@koustubh_sharma The release site was chosen using a rubric score chart, which we factored in multiple variables. The release site isn't the nearest option out of all available choices, however, it was rated the most optimal based on our current knowledge about sl habitat #EncounterUnicia

Considering his age and the area he was found (not ideal for sl to inhabit), we think it maybe a young adult who got lost on its way looking for new territory.

By December,"The Prince" has travelled an area≈220 km2,and he hunts preys every 4.6 days on average. All data shows he is living a merry life in his new kingdom. As the 4th SL being collared in China, his story highlights the SL conservation efforts in China. #EncounterUncia

On a night of the Mid-autumn festival, "The Prince" was relocated to the #Helen Mountain National Forest Park, an optimal release site considering prey resources and habitat suitability. Spotlighted by the full moon, he swiftly disappeared into the wilderness. #EncounterUncia

This is the very first time a #leopardcat was captured on a camera trap within a transect survey area in #HeLan Shan, NingXia, China. The survey is part of a #conservation project co-led by EBC and the Wildlife Institute, Beijing Forestry University, initiated in 2020.
