@MarcusHWeber @ValerieRoss14 @XiMeNaKa Valerie Ross accused me, a Jewish guy, of being a white supremacist when I asked her to back up her views with references.
Lol Valerie Ross epitomizes sour and hateful
@Econ_Marshall Doesn’t the abstract literally say that rental supply is reduced by increased conversion of rental units into units sold to occupants? Not owners keeping vacant units off the market.
Is there something I’m missing here? Is that in the paper?
@ChadNotChud Like the discussion around this reminds me of this video from @FoldableHuman

Everyone is just denying the text to have any deeper meaning
@ChadNotChud Ok but is she wrong??? Like she’s not just saying “Sisyphus is happy cuz he’s swoll”, she IS just saying (and elaborating on) the Camus thing.
The task allows Sisyphus to self actualize and know his place in the universe
@uhshanti I think you’re mistaken.
The data referred to here is usps change of address, but the address data more commonly used (I can only imagine you’re referring to) is Infutor data. Unless infutor is based on usps?
@katewillett I think it’s pretty straightforward to understand higher interest rates as increasing the costs for developers to build through borrowing money, and on top of regulatory constraints, maybe the combined pecuniary and non pecuniary costs just outweigh the benefits
@katewillett The answer is pretty straightforward, no? Private developers won’t build if it’s not longer profitable. That’s why they’re private.
However, as long as there’s profit to be made, private developers have incentive to build (ofc with regular equity and access caveats applied)
@IDoTheThinking@SocDoneLeft If you ever ask them or point them to literature that documents that kind of activity, they'll make conspiracy claims about how the authors are right wing shills or how they just completely made up the documentation or the claim.
I'mma just state the obvious about this whole blues situation to end all this for good:
This is just another example among the countless examples in history of a dude "trained" in a Euro-centric classical perspective trying to make sense of black art within their own system.
@dionysus8@PierreDelect@mayorseidel @clarenceatlanta @TwoSpines If there was an identity-card based system where you could only go to the park if you were a long-time resident, I could see myself supporting it.
