@JoshMatlow This is much needed policy - North York Centre has so many good food spots because of the many small-scale retail spots at the floor of the condos - it should be possible to have that in midtown with all the planned condos along Yonge
@JRUrbaneNetwork MTR escalators are by far the fastest ones I’ve ever seen, so it makes sense that it’s more efficient for everyone to stand - in Toronto they’re slower (likely to minimize trips/falls) to the point often people are walking up on both sides.
@michellekearnel@robertbenzie@TorontoStar Plus no attempt to sample across ages and postal code, which correlate with cycling. Survey under 30s in the old City of Toronto and I wonder if the mode share might easily exceed 20%, this is just such sloppy work that shouldn’t make the front page
@michellekearnel@robertbenzie I’m so shocked @TorontoStar would publish this - 998 Ontarians is gonna be less than 200 Torontonians - it’s just way too small a sample for cycling mode share.
@PrabSarkaria The poll referred here says 55% of 998 Ontarians not Torontonians support your plan. Anti-bike-lane mayoral candidates got less than 15% of the vote in Toronto. https://t.co/hCYO4dQHVV
@not_taylorx It’s the Pape bus terminal construction that caused the route changes. And of course even when 4x 25/925s are bunched they’ll never get short-turned at Don Mille Stn so the service stays unreliable
@TTChelps@TTCnotices three consecutive missed trips, big crowd waiting for the 95. 6-min service turned into 20. No service alerts. Is anyone managing this route?
@TTChelps@TTCnotices@ttcriders The gap was worse than that - bus #3496 left YM Stn out of service at 20:08, intentionally bypassing the crowd, then came back as a 95 EB at Leslie. I called and your colleague said that the route supervisor recorded that incident. Thanks and hoping this stops happening!
@not_taylorx@TTChelps I thought so too until I saw buses detouring skipping stops and the drivers (on the 14 and 162) telling me they serve only the stops with the temporary stop marker with their route on it - that was back in 2022 so I guess things changed 🤷♂️ thanks for the clarification @TTChelps
@TTChelps I love the new unplanned detours feature, but I thought your policy for buses on diversion was to not serve any stops unless they have a temporary stop marker with their route number on it?
