Because I had nothing to do today, I decided to test the assertion of @ssgeos and @hogrbe about alignment of 3 planets or sun and occurence of earthquakes (Spoiler: it does not work). Here after I will call this alignment a conjunction.
The fact that the NYT thought we needed yet another “wokeism running amok on college campuses” piece, completely indistinguishable from all the other ones, is more interesting to me than the essay itself, which has absolutely nothing new or substantive to add.

It is already clear that Bing AI is a big a leap over ChatGPT as ChatGPT was over the old GPT-3 model
It generated paper ideas based on my previous papers, found gaps in the literature, suggested methods "consistent with your previous methods," and offered potential data sources
HOT OFF THE PRESSES: Updated total precipitation map for California for a period of 22 days stretching from December 26 to January 17. The AVERAGE over the ENTIRE STATE in that time frame was 11.47 inches, with several locations in central California setting 3-week records.

Of course, the upside of this gargantuan rainfall is that our main reservoir, Lake Cachuma, has almost doubled its stored water, from 38.3% to 74.3% in *24 HOURS*. That's 23 billion gallons, or 35,000 Olympic swimming pools. And it's still filling.

Four daily rainfall records were broken yesterday in our area: 4.22" at SBA Airport, breaking the 2.83" of 2005; 3.42" at the Santa Maria Airport breaks 2.03" of 1907; 2.02" at Paso Robles Airport breaks 1.18" in 1995; 2.69" at Sandberg 1.84" of 2005. #CAwx#LArain
