@KotiChef@karpathy Hmm, that seems kind of counterintuitive. I feel like I have an easier time reaching across the keyboard with my thumb on a smaller width phone. Or did you mean the actual buttons are bigger, so they're easier to press more precisely?
@skooookum (1) SWEs have less personal attachment to their work, generally speaking. Software is more fungible, so it's no big deal if it gets replaced
(2) SWEs are more used to constantly changing tools/methods
(3) Artists are further from AI and have marginally more uncertainty anxiety
If I click "Unsubscribe from All" mailing lists, and then you create a new category of mailing list, what on God's green earth could possibly possess you to think I want to be on that new list?
@shakoistsLog Isn't this a bit like saying "a biased coin flipped heads, so your prediction of 0.7 was correct"?
We would need to see the outcomes of many of their predictions to know whether or not they actually had a good model and/or were well calibrated
o1 continues to feel like a game changer
I was sick and dehydrated in Thailand, at a random rest stop on the side of the highway. I send this photo to o1 and asked it to tell me what everything was:
It gave a brief description of every drink, including informed guesses for the ones it couldn't see well.
I grabbed the Gatorade equivalent and a few seconds later was on my way
So I'm on a 14 hour flight. I hear a kid behind me, and he starts kicking my seat on and off. It's not too bad, so I mostly ignore it.
Eventually the kicking really gets out of hand. So I turn around to ask him nicely to stop, and... the kid was one seat over. It was the dad
@beylin@AviSchiffmann This is the correct description. But I am also fine letting people believe the conventional narrative so they move to NYC instead
@bryan_johnson@natfriedman Do you test blueprint meals?
In SF, they come in plastic containers that say to microwave them, which seems less than ideal.
