Arnold Schwarzenegger’s wife gave birth to his fourth child in September 1997. Five days later, the family’s housekeeper gave birth to his fifth.
He kept it from his wife for 14 years.
In 2011, in couples counseling, Maria Shriver asked him point blank if the boy was his. “I thought my heart stopped,” he said. “And then I told the truth. Yes, Maria. Joseph is my son.”
They had married in 1986 with no prenup, in California, where what you earn during a marriage is split 50/50. Press estimates put the fortune at about $400 million.
She filed in July 2011. The divorce was not final until December 28, 2021. Ten years. The terms were never made public, and neither owes the other spousal support.
In the video below, he tells 60 Minutes she “did not deserve” it. Then watch for the joke he made on stage in 2025, 14 years after the truth came out: “My ex-wife calls me about the residual.”
The case for Maria: he hid a child inside her own home for 14 years.
The case for Arnold: he says it was his failure, and they still spend Christmas together.
Without a prenup, California starts at half. Should a man who did that still be entitled to half, or is half the only fair number?
In June, on his own podcast, he laughed at a woman who said an NBA player once offered her $15 million.
“That’s cap,” he said. Then he went after every man paying women “hundreds of thousands, millions.” “It’s lames out here with money,” he said. “If you didn’t have no money, you really can’t be hanging out with these bad ones.”
Four months later, his lawyer told a court he was “drowning financially.”
Paul Pierce earned about $195 million in NBA salary over 19 seasons. His last Fox Sports check came in August, and his filing says his monthly income went from an average of $119,000 to zero.
The same filing lists about $48,000 a month in expenses. $7,000 of it is eating out. $5,000 is groceries. $3,500 is entertainment. He says he pays around $28,000 a month in child support and $20,000 in spousal support. He still has $300,000 in the bank and $3 million in property.
The fight is with Princess Santiago, the mother of his son King. She asked for nearly $30,000 a month. He offered about $4,145. In September a judge set $8,508 a month and ordered him to cover $100,000 of her legal fees. Now she wants a forensic accountant to go through his money.
In the video below you hear the whole rant, in his own words.
After the story broke, Pierce posted one word on X: “Cap.”
The same word he used in June.
So is Paul Pierce really drowning, or is “drowning financially” just the smartest thing to say in a child support case?
