Day 22: another user test to validate the delivery of our plans, and ideas to improve the responsiveness to what we're suggesting; met up with the wonderful @WeAreYoke's Jide who was generous with advice and ideas 🙏; also need to work on the pitch when still identifying problems
Day 21: wrote down our user, chat and "new plan" flow including our edge functions and frontend; identified potential folks to speak to that might have a problem we can address; going to add more descriptions to our landing page based on the work of @hubermanlab 😍
Day 20: more tweaks to our app given we're dropping the finance angle for now; identified user tests we want to conduct (monetisation is key!); had a sick chat with @GavelaMike who showed me the ways of digital marketing; first listen of @AlexHormozi's audiobook. What a day!
Day 19: reworked our landing page (and app thanks to @jasonnotklein) to focus less on finances (a much higher ask) and more on following through on their goals. Sent out feelers for problems that business owners are facing. Got a follow from @MeetKevon 😍 #buildinpublic
Day 18: agreed on how to adjust our offer to align with what we have NOW, bringing in folks who agree that they want help following through on their plans (as opposed to simply making them). Very eager to see how this change leads to a clearer marketing angle!
Day 16/17: implemented our subscribe button! If you'd like to try out our app and get a detailed plan, head over to https://t.co/EGwFLGH2Hj for more! @erasfyi
Day 14/15: migration to @tailwindcss complete! Adding new features is a breeze. Can't wait to collect more user feedback on it. Went to a @Level39CW event (hope that's the right tag) today to battle test the pitch and see what else is being built.
Day 13: migrated our app UI to Tailwind and suddenly everything's so much cleaner. Glad to have tests for functionality in place + ChatGPT to do simple refactoring. Now it's going to be much easier to style new features - looking forward to building those!
Days 10-12: fell off the daily X (seriously?) train, but here it is! Worked out next test (will people pay for a weekly email to guide them on their PF journey?); starting migration of app to @tailwindcss 😍; and will be handling payments with https://t.co/6w0ug1IW4q soon!
Day 9: laid out what we want to monetise and how we're going to do it. Going to try out @gumroad, automate customised subscriber emails and see what happens! Also, came across lovely-but-too-close-to-home memes by @dagorenouf 🤣 @erasfyi
Day 7/8: consolidated our findings from previous days' research and 2 user interviews today; implemented experimentation strategy especially for monetisation (which remains top of mind); updated new landing page to have waitlist functionality (but not backend yet!) #SuperMoon 😂
Day 6: made a dent on our landing page migration. Necessary process or we won't have the features (or style) we need on the landing page. Next step: migrate blog + add an About page, Subscribe and Mailing list features!
Introducing: “Money on Autopilot,” a new series where the a16z Consumer team will unpack how AI will transform consumer finance across all types of products.
First, @omooretweets and @illscience on The Future of AI x Personal Finance: https://t.co/Rioxusf6Or
@a16z@omooretweets@illscience Found this article and couldn't agree more. The angle we're approaching this from is that individuals have financial plans they want to sort out. When we've got the planning/research phase down, we'll automate the execution. We'd love to chat more about our approach!
Massively agree on the angle in this article! It's where eras would love to get to:
'Thanks to generative AI, the much-discussed topic of “self-driving money” finally has a chance to achieve its potential.' https://t.co/DJMeO6DiU8 via @a16z
Day 4: had a thoughtful discussion with a VC friend about our addressable market and what we can hope to achieve at a business and impact level. Hard truths in there, but also seeds of directions to take. Glad to have honest conversations. It's a tough market out there!
