@firesidealpha Still not understanding the sell-off - seems like CEOs / leaders are making it very clear that they only see more compute demand. Plus the non-AI biz here is growing at substantial rates too, even if AI dies tomorrow u have downside protection?
@UnstructuredCap All about preserving the optionality imo.
From talking to peers strategy seems to get some “good names” down on your resume to build up capital + gain credibility before going out and doing their own thing
eh i think a lot of the negative press around PE is bc the explosive growth it had as an asset class during ZIRP… PE just owns a lot more cos and thus you are exposed to more shitty operators
Who made this?
I did.
PE destroys everything it touches.
When a company gets sold to PE everyone is worse off but the PE guys:
- the employees
- the vendors
- the PE investors (look it up!)
- and of course the customers who now need new suppliers as the PE runs the old business into the ground
And the sellers?
You’d be surprised.
More often than not they get destroyed too.
@max_spero_@lumpenspace a pangram shopping app that automatically filters out AI slop reviews would be helpful - would gladly pay, esp as the problem gets worse!
@s0ymalia people also overestimate how hard it is to repair your own car, the only barrier is tools
BUT there’s a ton of shared mechanic spaces/auto repair bay rental shops opening up now, costs like $90 for an hour and comes with lifts, every tool you could possibly imagine, etc.
@basedjensen i understand the pessimism but what the alternative? the safety features on these models are not good enough and jailbreakers will find a way…
