And just to make absolutely sure you get your full dose of daily climate f&%kery, here is the graphic for Antarctic sea-ice extent through July 6, 2023.
For the statistically inclined, this extent sets a new modern record, at 5.27 standard deviations below the 1991-2020 mean.
All monthly records are being broken simultaneously.
🌍🌡📈June surface air temperatures will be highest on record.
🌊🌡📈Global Sea Surface Temperatures will be record high.
🧊➡️🌊Global Sea Ice will be record low.
This is not normal!
Committing to #ClimateAction can become overwhelming. So we’re sharing our net-zero journey in a resource called “Don’t #@!% the Planet.” 🌎

Actions speak louder than words. And the first 6 months of this ABC majority have said a lot:
❌ Renters Office
❌ Bike Lanes
❌ Living Wage
❌ $3.8M meant for Social Housing
And more.
Is this the leadership Vancouverites voted for?

I think the strongest point many speakers made is that “we can build it later” is smoke & mirrors. Tell the truth —we likely won’t. The cost, political pushback & retail disruption later will make it EXPONENTIALLY harder.
And most know that.
This is the easiest it will EVER be.
So incredibly disappointed by this decision by ABC to kill ("delay until never" 🙄) active transportation on Broadway 😭
But I'm inspired by everyone who wrote & spoke in support. This is a bad decision. We have a lot of work ahead. And I won't back down. #VanPoli@OneCityVan
ABC's two major active transportation decision so far have been:
-removing the Stanley Park bike lane
-killing the Broadway mobility lane
Some of them talk a big talk about 15-minute cities, supporting active transpo, blah blah blah. But votes matter more than spin. #vanpoli
ABC Vancouver votes -again- to kill safe active transportation.
First it was Stanley Park - now it's Broadway.
Whether it's on a bike or on an e-scooter, families, seniors, couriers and commuters alike won't be able to get where they're going safely.
Vancouver City Council has voted to NOT include active transportation lanes on Broadway.

@CircleCI Thank you for preparing and sharing the incident report. One thing that the report does not make clear was whether the attacker could have exfiltrated customer source code (in addition to tokens and keys). Could you please clarify?
.eco is now carbon neutral, certified in accordance with PAS2060! 🙌 to our partners https://t.co/GyPjEIXEEo and https://t.co/EGkFiXezu0 in helping us get there. https://t.co/KlyMzFvnsz
@CircleCI How about providing the ability to edit environment variables? Secret rotation is more of a hassle when you have to delete and recreate each environment variable.
Phase 1 of the Stanley Park bike lane removal is underway. While Phase 1 was expected to be completed this week, the remainder of the work has been delayed until next week as crews have had to prioritize managing snow/ice during this heavy weather event. More updates to come.
I empathize with Elon Musk's concerns about flight tracking, which is why I am calling on Congress to ban private jets. The best way for us to keep billionaires safe is if they simply travel on a commercial flight surrounded by security and air marshals.
This might well get me banned, but what the heck...

I've had a good ride here. And a lot of that is because I joined when it was new & growing rapidly, just like Mastodon is now.
1/3 Here’s a plea to all of Twitter. If you agree, please retweet, because I think it’s important.
If you’re going to leave:
1) Don’t delete your account, because someone else could grab it.
2) Don’t delete your tweets, because they are part of a unique historical snapshot.
🚨 @Twitter's decision to suspend the accounts of more than a dozen journalists from @CNN, @nytimes, @washingtonpost and other outlets poses a threat to press freedom and reflects another deeply troubling example of the direction Twitter is headed.

The @IEA’s bombshell new report on renewables has incredibly good news.
For example, solar is undergoing a mega boom & may surpass coal by 2027
Below is a 🧵 on genuinely good news on green energy from the IEA & beyond (1/22)
