@zhpha_zhpha1@flowidealism He said it was in his class in China. Physical punishment is illegal in Australian schools. He told me about this after another one of the 4 students in this small group told me I was a nice teacher and that teachers I China are not nice.
@CherylW43857313@DrSuneelDhand Secretarial work, nursing, teaching or working in a shop. I almost always find, too, that women who pursued careers like medicine in those days had fathers who supported them, financially and in every other way.
@CherylW43857313@DrSuneelDhand I donโt know where you are but university was not free here in Australia in the 1950s. My mother came of age then and, though highly intelligent, left school at 15 because thatโs what girls did then. Unless the family was wealthy enough to pay for uni, the only options were 1/2
@BradfemlyWalsh What an unkind comment to make. The behaviour the teacher was expecting of this child is definitely not developmentally appropriate for a 3yo. Children do well when they can.
@DanBurmawy As a teacher of 5yos and grandmother (of a 2yo), Iโm having difficulty getting my head around a 3yo being at summer camp. Or any camp. Youโre right: normal behaviour for a 3yo. Theyโre not made for structured situations or to be away from mum and dad.
@LifeEd_org@hmm_cook Teacher here. But you get to choose your workplace and leave if you donโt like it. And not all workplaces are the same. Itโs much easier to find one that suits you than it is to find a school that suits you.
@benonwine Youโre often very conscious of the fact that youโre getting older but you become incredibly grateful for the wonderful life you have. And you enjoy the freedom and everything in life so much more because you have time.
@BiblicGrounded Murder is wrong because you are taking away someoneโs right to decide what happens to their body. Also, empathy. We are inter-dependent. We need each other to survive. Thus, we should not hurt one another.
@IlliterateSquid No. Itโs because when a bloke called Jack Cowin brought it to Australia in 1971, the name Burger King was already registered and trademarked by a local takeaway shop.
@housewelf Depends how old your baby is. If newborn & breastfed, Iโd ask if an exception could be made. If not you just choose whether to go or politely decline. People are allowed to exclude bsbies as they can be noisy & distracting. You choose whether to be offended or accepting.
