In his opening remarks at the Government–Civil Society Dialogue, the Guest of Honour, Hon. Minister of @RwandaLocalGov emphasized that Rwanda’s progress has been achieved through strong collaboration among Government, citizens, Civil Society, the private sector, and development partners. He appreciated Civil Society’s contribution to #NST2 and #Vision2050 across economic transformation, social transformation, and transformational governance. He mentioned, “Policy provides direction, but prosperity becomes meaningful only when it is experienced by every citizen in every community.”

He later reaffirmed the Government’s continued commitment to enabling a conducive environment for #CSOs and stressed that civil society must continue to uphold transparency and accountability. He called for a shift from consultation to co-creation, from project-based engagement to long-term strategic partnership, and from counting activities to measuring real impact on citizens’ lives.

Today, the Minister of Local Government, @Dominiquehab, officially opened the Government–Civil Society Dialogue. Held under the theme, “Strengthening Collaboration between Government and Civil Society for Sustainable NST2 and Vision 2050 Outcomes,” the forum serves as a strategic platform to reinforce institutional partnerships for national development.

Minister Habimana commended Rwanda’s remarkable socio-economic progress over the last 32 years. He attributed these achievements to the enduring partnership between the Government and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), guided by an inclusive leadership that actively values the contributions of all stakeholders.

The Minister underscored the vital role of institutionalized platforms in driving impactful governance. He highlighted the Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) at the local government level, alongside Technical and Sector Working Groups at the national level, as central mechanisms ensuring that developmental programs translate into tangible transformations in citizen welfare.

“The mandate of Civil Society extends far beyond the co-design of national aspirations; it is fundamentally rooted in their active realization. Today’s dialogue offers a timely opportunity to evaluate our shared progress, strengthen strategic alignment, and renew our collective commitment to Rwanda’s developmental milestones”, he said.

Minister Habimana urged Civil Society Organizations to further align and advance their interventions with pressing grassroots priorities. He called for an intensified, collaborative focus on critical socio-economic challenges, including eradicating malnutrition, combating gender-based violence, and upgrading community hygiene and sanitation standards.

What started as a small farming initiative is now a thriving agro-processing enterprise.
MUZARWA Company Ltd, a chilli🌶️and passion fruit juice🍹 processor located in @RwamaganaDistrict, @RwandaEast, turned post-harvest challenges into opportunities through value addition, market linkages, and innovation.

With support from the #VIBEProgramme, this youth-led enterprise increased its annual sales from RWF 12 million to RWF 60 million, expanded employment from 3 to 8 permanent staff, plus 20 casual workers, and continues to grow.
The company now supplies 38 supermarkets in Kigali and has expanded into Goma markets.

Emmanuel Macron, Président de la République de #France, la Secrétaire générale de la #Francophonie, @LMushikiwabo, a pris part à l’inauguration du mémorial en hommage aux victimes du génocide perpétré contre les Tutsi au Rwanda.

Geste hautement symbolique de la part de la France, ce mémorial baptisé « L’Archive » est installé sur l’esplanade Habib-Bourguiba (Paris 7e). Il offre un espace de recueillement et incarne un devoir de mémoire et de transmission intergénérationnelle.

Under PFTH’s Legitimacy, Transparency & Accountability Mentorship programme, in partnership with @careinrwanda, our team has been visiting women-led and Women’s Rights organisations across @NyagatareDistr, @NgomaDistrict, and @KireheDistrict, to observe applied approaches and their impact on communities, document best practices, understand challenges and provide tailored technical support, while also fostering mutual learning among partners.

We wrapped up the field visits with a great strategic session involving district leaders and the @RwandaWomen to ensure stronger coalitions and a more resilient network for advocacy on issues affecting women and girls in particular, and the family at large!
