Breaking: Indian NSA Ajit Doval, Chinese FM Wang Yi hold talks
Full China Statement:
On May 10, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, held a phone conversation with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Doval stated that the Pahalgam terrorist attack had caused significant casualties among Indian personnel, and that India needed to take counter-terrorism actions. He emphasized that war is not India's choice and does not serve the interests of any party. Both India and Pakistan are committed to maintaining the ceasefire and hope for the early restoration of regional peace and stability.
Wang Yi expressed China's condemnation of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and its opposition to all forms of terrorism. He noted that, given the current complex and volatile international situation, peace and stability in Asia are hard-won and should be cherished. India and Pakistan are neighboring countries that cannot be relocated, and both are also neighbors of China. China appreciates Doval’s statement that war is not India's choice and sincerely hopes that both sides will remain calm and exercise restraint, resolve differences through dialogue and consultation, and avoid further escalation. China supports and looks forward to India and Pakistan achieving a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire through negotiations, which is in the fundamental interests of both countries and the shared aspirations of the international community.
As long as Pakistan uses its territory for terrorism against India, there can be no permanent peace. #Ceasefire or no ceasefire we must pursue the terrorists responsible for #Pahalgam attack.
I have always stood by the government & the armed forces against external aggression. This will continue.
I thank the armed forces for their bravery & their commendable skill. I pay homage to Army jawan, M Murali Naik, ADDC Raj Kumar Thapa & pray for all the civilians who were killed or injured during the conflict.
I hope this ceasefire gives respite to the people living in border areas.
I also hope that Indians and Indian political parties learn from the past two weeks: India is strong when it is united; our enemies benefit when Indians fight Indians.
I have some questions, and I hope the government will clarify:
1. I wish our PM @narendramodi had announced the ceasefire rather than the President of a foreign country. We have always been opposed to third party intervention since Simla (1972). Why have we now accepted it? I hope the Kashmir issue will not be internationalised, as it is our internal matter.
2. Why are we agreeing to talk on a neutral territory? What will be the agenda of these talks? Does the United States guarantee that Pakistan will not use its territory for terrorism?
3. Have we achieved our aim of deterring Pakistan from carrying out future terror attacks? Was our goal to get a Trump-brokered ceasefire or was it to bring Pakistan to such a position that it would not even dream of another terror attack?
4. We must continue the international campaign to put Pakistan in the FATF grey list.
@ankita_dhimmar@Hasmukhpatelips It lies in chest thumping & show-offing himself as the progressive leader of GPSC- a lion who held exams EVEN when there was war. And then getting Padma vibhushan for his bravery.
@collectorkut@CMOGuj@InfoGujarat@Hasmukhpatelips looks like Hasmukh sir is unable to read these things written in gujarati? 😣 Cuz he's wishing best luck to d students for exams tmorrow. @CMOGuj bhupendra sir, why is safety of students a joke? R we waitin for some tragedy 2 happen?
@ShawB332332@Hasmukhpatelips He is a man without heart. Without any sympathy. Koi daya bhavna nathi sir ma. Aapdi families ne je thay ye thay, ae postpone nathi kari rya bcoz GPSC ne fari paisa kharch karvu padse
@Hasmukhpatelips Decision should be taken considering the larger public interests. Taking into account of those who can reach the centre as well as those who are in panic situation especially residing in border districts passing through the constant mental trauma.
