Lawyer Martha Karua, who leads the legal team for Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye and his aide Hajji Obeid Lutale Kamulegeya, was denied entry into Uganda this morning at Entebbe Airport.

Karua had flown in today to join Ssaalongo Erias Lukwago’s lawyers for his bail hearing at Makindye Court. Her colleagues were allowed into the country, but she was ordered to return to Kenya.

But what kind of nonsense is this !?

Ofcourse it’s not fair especially in a country with no minimum wage. Atleast if it can be raised to like 500k. Though I had previously advocated for 1m, this is not feasible looking at how much people are earning. But it should be everyone’s duty to pay taxes and Government should put our taxes to good use. Paying taxes and then using roads like those in Kampala is a breach of the “Social Contract”.

As the "From Access To Equality" (FATE) project draws near to its close in Kamuli District, to appreciate their great support, UWONET conducted stakeholder visits to key partners, including the Police, Chief Administrative Officer(CAO), District Community Development and Probation Officers yesterday.

UWONET also shared Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials including; laws on succession, marriage, divorce, child labour ( English and Lusoga), Justice Law and Order Sector research, UWONET's Annual Report and other essential police forms such as the Police form 24, 24 A and 3) with the CAO, Child and Family Protection Unit and with the Community Development Department.
