The most common management mistake I see people make is just telling people constantly they’re doing a good job, when in reality you should almost constantly be giving nudges about how they can be better.

It’s like if a sports coach spent 99% of practice just saying “great job. Excellent. Way better than what people in that other org are doing.”

Then they’re shocked when it doesn’t translate into major wins.
