MY RESIGNATION
FROM IAP
HAS BEEN ACCEPTED.
Now I can finally speak freely.
The IAP once had many ethical leaders.
What follows is why chose to leave.

WHY DID I LEAVE?
Because concerns raised repeatedly were ignored.
For years, I raised concerns about ORSL promotion, conference presence, and the blurring of lines between science and marketing.
Those concerns were never meaningfully addressed.
When legitimate concerns are ignored, silence becomes complicity.

WHY WAS ORSL BEING PROMOTED AT PEDICON?
I repeatedly raised concerns regarding ORSL.
Yet its presence at conferences continued.
Why?

THEY SAID IT THEMSELVES.
Kenvue publicly stated that their products were presented at:
PEDICON
• APICON
• FMPC
• RSSDI
Where was the condemnation?
This is their own statement. We raised concerns repeatedly.
Silence is not oversight. Silence is a choice.
THE ISSUE WAS PUBLICLY RAISED.
This wasn't hidden.
The concerns were documented publicly.
Yet no meaningful action followed.
This is not hearsay.
This is public record.

THIS NEEDS THOROUGH INVESTIGATION.
Parents deserve transparency when child health guidance is issued.
Authorities need to examine why parents were not clearly warned about daily consumption of sucralose-containing drinks in children.
Why was only sucralose specifically highlighted in this position paper?
Why was this emphasis made?
What evidence supported it?
Were parents adequately informed?
Transparency builds trust. Questions strengthen science.

WHY SILENCE IS NOT
NEUTRAL.
When leadership remains silent in the face of unethical influence:
Trust is eroded
Families and doctors lose faith in the system.
Science is compromised
Marketing begins to shape medical spaces.
Children are at risk
Unnecessary and misleading products enter their lives.
Professional integrity suffers. Ethical doctors are pushed out.
Wrong becomes normal.
Silence protects the system.
Speaking up protects children.

Our hearing has been delayed for the past 6 months - constant delays in everything - no accountability shown by the concerned authorities - we have not even received a date for our hearing since one month. Plus 1.5 years of suffering. We the doctors of CPS who were admitted into our courses through the proper channels were supposed to have our exams on the 15th of April 2025. The repeaters have been waiting for around 2 years and the freshers for 1.5 years. The sheer mental agony of dealing with this constant uncertainty and pressure, has made us utterly helpless. Jobs lost, marriages broken, depressive and anxiety episodes. Even after constant efforts by the students to get a resolution - we have recieved no support whatsoever. This is a HUGE failure on the part of the system - that has left 2500 perfectly capable doctors wasting away. We just want out exams. I am happy for the doctors who got a resolution for their exams/ degree issues after just one protest/ within a few months itself - Meanwhile the doctors of CPS have been waiting for the final post graduate exams since 1.5 years. The discrimination is real! #medtwitter @PMOIndia

He later served as a doctor in 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐞 (India) and 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚 (𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚) during the 1960s — before becoming one of the finest actors in Bollywood & Marathi cinema (1970s–90s).

A rare journey where science met art… and both were mastered.

I’ll again let people know that many tests which you feel are unnecessary- are - Yes- unnecessary - but done due to medicolegal reality - not due to doctor wanting more money.
I’m sorry - but bringing Healthcare under Consumer act has definitely inflated costs.

You went with headache and got MRI Brain done.
It’s cause of the 0.0001% chance it’s a stroke - you won’t think twice before suing the doc who didn’t get the MRI done.

Congrats- now every headache gets a MRI.

We used to manage childhood leukemia on daycare basis in AIIMS.
Transfusions were given with a strict 20k platelet cutoff. (for FN)

I would be sued into oblivion if I tried that in private and a child with leukemia with 24k platelet gets a bleed.

All the borderline cases get more treatment - not less in private - this isn’t becuase doctor doesn’t know conservative management- it’s because you will sue the doctor for not being aggressive enough incase something goes wrong.

Who was Dr. Chandrakant Patil and what is Late Dr Chandrakant Patil Award?

Dr. Chandrakant Patil was a resident doctor from KEM Hospital, Parel, who volunteered for flood relief work in Bihar in 2008 under the banner of Doctors For You. Just five days after reaching the flood-affected area, he tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning while serving affected communities.

The relief mission was coordinated by Dr. Ravikant Singh, another KEM resident doctor, who mobilised medical aid across six districts of Bihar for several months. For this humanitarian effort, he received the SAARC Youth Award (2009), an award by the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) that recognises young individuals making significant contributions to social and humanitarian work in South Asia.

Dr. Singh dedicated the award to KEM Hospital and to the memory of Dr. Chandrakant Patil.

To honour his legacy, the Dr. Chandrakant Patil Award is also given to resident doctors for outstanding community work during their residency, encouraging young doctors to continue the spirit of service he represented.
