Accelerating Life Off-Planet — gravityLab provides programmable gravity for research and manufacturing in space.

@grantbonin @gravitylab Let’s be unambiguous: we care about babies in space.

[Grant Bonin @grantbonin]

This is simply the case for @gravitylab. It’s been a journey. I don’t know its outcome, which is hard to admit. But I hope a needle got moved on a worthy problem.

I’m anthropocentric. I just had a conversation with someone whom I thought was an inspiration, but turned away from the vision of human value. Sorry there are limiting business cases for being human. But I’m still in that fight, personally.

We do this stuff to preserve life and its richness. I want our art to never die. Or at least not before it’s time.

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

“What does your team know that no one else does?”

We @gravityLabSpace know that gravity is life or death for the long-term future of the human race.

Not hyperbole, and not doom and gloom at all. Just a frontier of space and biology to explore and exploit…

[Grant Bonin @grantbonin]

And don’t be afraid to lose (the only true losses are health and loved ones)

[Grant Bonin @grantbonin]

Yes we are. And we haven’t shoved it to the back of our roadmap (not a criticism of the awesome companies in this space, simply that we’ve committed for better or worse @gravityLabSpace to this being the core and immediate problem to tackle from mission 1.

It’s wonderful to see others in this space, and I think we’ll see spin gravity at some scale happen in the next handful of years.

[Grant Bonin @grantbonin]

Fun podcast to do, thanks to Evona!

TL;DR: read a lot. Surround yourself with amazing people. Fall in love with the things you spend time on. Don’t be afraid to fail.

It’s what we’re about, for those who want to crack this nut in a low-cost way…

[Ken Kirtland IV @KenKirtland17]

Imo artificial gravity is far and away the number one thing we should've been studying during our last 20 years in LEO and it is just about the only thing we didn't study at all.

At least we got a plethora of data showing why its so important...

[anna wadhwa 🚀 @ImAstroAnna]

@GrantBonin on @gravityLabSpace! Talking not just how to explore and live in space, but how we can ✨thrive✨ 💪

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

@RockettLord Had to hard pivot from mech to EE. A natural transition. Also seals. Also, still taxes please.

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

gravityLab explores and exploits spin gravity for living and building off-planet. Our upcoming missions let customers dial gravity like a thermostat. Complementary to space station capabilities, we use smallsats to go from order-to-orbit as fast as possible. DM to chat @SmallSat

[Grant Bonin @grantbonin]

Alright fellow #SmallSat familiar and new faces, it’s that time of year. @IsaCFritz and I are doing it in style as usual: epic road trip with some camping added to the trip. DM to meet up!

[The Mars Society @TheMarsSociety]

Grant Bonin, Co-Founder & CEO of @gravityLabSpace, will give a plenary talk at the 2024 International Mars Society Convention in August. His Seattle-based company specializes in artificial gravity satellites for research and manufacturing in low Earth orbit. #mars2024 #science

[Grant Bonin @grantbonin]

DFL is a world-class test facility. I’ve had the privilege of doing environmental test campaigns of satellites spanning three orders of magnitude in size there. Good luck recreating this capability if it goes away…

In an age where low-cost big satellites might finally become cost-effective, the death of DFL is a move in a fool-hearty direction @csa_asc

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

gravityLab will be at #satellite2024 if you’d like to meet up! Send us a DM to talk about applications of programmable gravity in small spacecraft!

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

Congratulations @VardaSpace! Amazing to see companies embracing “turning the knob” of gravity to enable new manufacturing. This is exactly the service we aim to provide, but in flight and for months to years if needed.

[Adrian Radocea @adrian_radocea]

By isolating gravity as a variable we can now directly map the influence of gravity to product performance metrics

[Grant Bonin @grantbonin]

@ID_AA_Carmack we should talk about @gravityLabSpace :) this is essentially what we are doing but for extremely low-cost

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

@gravityLabSpace is at NASA’s Human Research Program Investigator Workshop today and tomorrow! DM if you’d like to meet up #HRPIWS #NASA

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

@rocketrepreneur @FutureJurvetson @FuSchmu @ZachWeiner @Cmdr_Hadfield @andyweirauthor @vast @GraviticsInc This is exactly what we’re building—to enable informed healthcare decisions for future space travelers in all respects. Reproduction was the inspiration, but the well of challenges (and opportunities) is deep

[Jonathan A. Goff @rocketrepreneur]

@FutureJurvetson @FuSchmu @ZachWeiner @Cmdr_Hadfield @andyweirauthor I wish that this far into the space age we had better data on how humans function at gravity levels >µG and <1G. I've been beating that drum for coming up on 20yrs now. Glad to see companies like @vast and @GraviticsInc and @gravityLabSpace trying to create AG orbital platforms.

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

@Robotbeat @interplanetary @KenKirtland17 Model organism data initially, yes

[Chris Lewicki @interplanetary]

@KenKirtland17 Way more cost effective to do this with @gravityLabSpace

[gravityLab @gravityLabSpace]

Our CEO @grantbonin opines on valves, with moderate profanity ;)

[Aria Alamalhodaei @breadfrom]

A thousand words on valves and why they are every spacecraft engineer's worst nightmare, with contributions from @grantbonin, CEO of @gravityLabSpace, and Jake Teufert, CTO of @BenchmarkSpace
