Ridiculous that the irrawaddy would interview Win Myat Aye and not even ask about the Rohingya crisis.
Win Myat Aye pushed the racist NVC process which denied them citizenship, said the military didn’t burn their villages, and oversaw the bulldozing of what was left.
Airstrikes, indiscriminate attacks, civilians targeted.
But this isn't Ukraine.
It's Myanmar.
A global arms embargo is urgently needed!

Armed only with pots and pans, chef @meemalee explains #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar, where the military is using lethal ingredients to wage a brutal campaign against anti-coup protesters. Don’t look away. Share this video. The world must act now to end the carnage in #Myanmar 📢

How odd for @NUGMyanmar to go after @DrSasa22222 for taking a principled human rights defender like @drzarni on board. This is a bad sign that the pre-coup status quoists have no intent to truly reform the political system of #Myanmar & exorcise the genocide ghost.
See my questioning of Burma/Myanmar’s dissent @UN Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun. He speaks eloquently against the coup but, like many democracy advocates from #Burma, gives disappointing answers regarding the #Rohingya.

The world’s attention must remain on Myanmar, where I’ve been appalled by heartbreaking violence against civilians and inspired by the nationwide movement that represents the voice of the people.
Today, we are taking further action to restrict the Burmese regime’s access to economic resources by sanctioning two state-owned enterprises that benefit the regime. We support the people of Burma as they strive for lasting peace and democracy.
