On this day while dozens of people including elderly women and children were murdered in Imphal many made it to the various military camps.
It took days of strategic planning to evacuate these many peoples by our CSOs, Assam Rifles's etc.
Each of those people who were on these trucks & buses would have a chilling stories to tell.
The people of Motbung village displayed an exemplary performance in welcoming the people with not only water, medicines, food & shelter but also with loud cheers as a celebration of victory for those who made it out alive.

Olivia Chongloi & Florence Hangsing: Two young women who worked at Gama Car Wash at Konung Mamang Imphal were locked in a room by a mob including Meira Paibis. Young men entered the room and proceeded to torture them. A news report said the victims’ co-workers could hear their screams and pleas for two hours. When the room was opened, it was filled with the blood and hair of the victims, who were now dead.

This targeted hate, fueled by propagandists, perpetuates a climate of fear and insecurity for the Kukizo community, making them feel unsafe and vulnerable wherever they reside. The blatant disregard for their safety and well-being is not only unjust but also goes against the fundamental principles of humanity and coexistence.

It's imperative that we denounce such hateful rhetoric and advocating for their rights to safety, security, and dignity. Every individual, regardless of ethnicity, deserves to live free from fear and discrimination. Let's come together to combat hate and bigotry, ensuring that all communities are treated with the respect and compassion they deserve.
