DCP रावळे सोबत माझी चर्चा झाली असून, पोलीस विद्यार्थ्यांना पूर्ण सहकार्य करणार असल्याचे त्यांनी आश्वासित केले असून विद्यार्थ्यांनी कायदा हाती नं घेता शांतता मार्गाने आंदोलन करावे

To all the Indian parents reading this, a few points to note:

1. The job offers above Rs. 1 crores are secured by a handful of students, usually < 10 such students.
2. Mostly these job offers are from the CS department. Maybe a few in Electrical Engineering.
3. These are all US offers. In Indian currency, the figure may seem too big, but in USD terms, it is $120k a year, which is not bad, but not the "Rs. 1 crore package" that you're thinking. Expenses in the US are proportionately high.
4. All of these offers contain a large stock component (~30%). Some companies add the stocks of 4 years into the package, only to inflate the number.

Therefore, I request all Indian parents to don't get swayed away by seeing such media articles. Your child cracked a decent college. Don't hammer them for not getting that Rs. 1 crore package. Placement isn't the end of your child's career. It in fact is literally the beginning of their career. Your child will do wonders over the next 5 to 10 years. Help them. Support them.

To all the students - many congratulations. Keep shining and making your country proud!

PS: This is coming from someone who has been in the Silicon Valley and gotten multiple such packages. Also, the journalists have written a lot of made up (and factually incorrect) stuff in the newspaper article below. Never trust the content written by a journalist. Question every single thing. The journalist profession is meant to create content that attracts eyeballs.

And in 2023, it's 3.6 LPA.

Which is just a 12% increase in 12 years.

The CEO's salary, however, has increased by 9900% in 12 years.

And then you have the guts to ask your employees to work 14 hours a day!!!
