After British colonialism, US Employment based backlogs are a new form of imperialism on Indians.
One that no US administration recognizes as such.
Thanks @David_J_Bier for calling the spade a spade.

How much more chaos and uncertainty do we need to endure before people understand we’re ‘aliens’ - no, human beings with lives and responsibilities?

Renewals, transfers are all essentially "extensions" of an existing H1-B not new petitions -
transfer means you check change of employer, renewal means same employer, but these are colloquial and not offical terms

@checkvisaslots Lawyers I’ve spoken to say H-1B transfers are new petitions and will likely not be exempt from a fee.
F-1 to H-1B will definitely be a new petition.
In the last two months, I have been contacted by two students who had CLEARLY improper OPT/STEM OPT denials. They had reached out on litigation or MTRs. For both, I had suggested their DSO contact the regional SEVP liaison. In both cases, they were able to get it resolved through that method instead of litigating or doing an MTR or suing. Lesson learned: WORK WITH YOUR DSOs! @NAFSA
As a part of an ongoing research project, Harsh Taneja @harsht, associate prof. of new & emerging media in advertising, published an opinion piece on the importance of newspaper readership surveys for advertising in the India news outlet @scroll_in.

News is vital to an informed democracy and newspapers in India remain the most credible news providers. Reinstating a national readership survey is essential – not just for the publishing industry but for the health of India’s public discourse, Harsh Taneja writes.

Advertising Prof. Harsh Taneja @harsht addressed when TV networks would move to a paid-streaming model in @news_gazette's “Kathy’s Mailbag” series.
“Broadcast and cable TV is very much alive, (and) will be in fall 2025. However, it isn’t thriving."

I am not an economist, but I do spend a *lot* more time than the average person does in studying politics and elections.
I can never once recall a time where a recession was so directly and obviously traceable to the president alone, let alone one where he CLAIMED CREDIT FOR IT.
If business is a confidence game, these guys played the game about as poorly as possible. People will remember the losing bet they made for generations to come. Unfortunately, it's a bet with consequences for the entire economy. But it's (honestly) good they're backing down.
