Could I point out that people are now able to realise they dont have BPD because of the unpaid unappreciated labour of the survivor movement introducing #AutismNotPD #CptsdNotPD #BipolarNotPD #PMDDNotPD #ADHDNotPD at least a decade before profs who are now slowly coming on board.
@Shrink_at_Large @parochena @SnarkBadger @em_doapsi @Buglet333 i did 2 years of group dbt and every single person i did this group dbt with has since realised they don’t actually have bpd. i’ve heard cases of someone having a meltdown the police called and she spoke on the phone for 10 mins to a doctor who slapped her with bpd!
Can we also tell the EUPD/BPD psychiatrists in the uk that put that diagnosis on every woman in services to

Emotional regulation in ADHD-The DSM May Not List It, but the Brain Does 🚨
Top-down inhibition is a core role of the PFC👉the same region that drives the “cognitive” symptoms of ADHD.
But an often-forgotten function of the PFC is impulse control and emotional regulation.
Just because the DSM doesn’t list it doesn’t mean it doesn’t shape the disorder.
Key tip 💡👉the Frontostriato-limbic circuits are connected - Just because the DSM / ICD split them - doesn’t mean clinicians should split.

@Shrink_at_Large I was dxd BPD within 10min of meeting the Dr who supervised the NP I was seeing for med mgmt. Every single thing I said was a direct result of being AuDHD and he said "classic BPD" and that was it. Took another 5 years to realize, but the harm to my self image had been done.
