Could I point out that people are now able to realise they dont have BPD because of the unpaid unappreciated labour of the survivor movement introducing #AutismNotPD #CptsdNotPD #BipolarNotPD #PMDDNotPD #ADHDNotPD at least a decade before profs who are now slowly coming on board.

Bipolar tends to be diagnosed notoriously and dangerously late, especially in AFAB folk, and especially if it's bipolar II. #BipolarNotPD is a real problem depriving patients of or of the most effective, specific treatments in mental health.

It's more difficult to change existing prejudice than instil new narratives that never had that baggage to start with.
Fortunately we have the evidence to do this with #TraumaNotPD, #AutismNotPD, #BipolarNotPD, #PMDDNotPD.
Better is possible and needs to be on our watch.

BPD has partially survived as a label despite horrific reliability and validity, and awful iatrogenic harm, cos of the idea it's one thing albeit badly named. This doesn't fit the evidence. Sometimes-often - its #TraumaNOTPD, sometimes #ADHDNotPD, #BipolarNotPD #TransNotPD too
This is one of many problems with the BPD construct which comes undone once we educate Ourselves to recognise #AutismNotPD, #TraumaNotPD, #QueerNotPD, #PMDDNotBPD and #BipolarNotPD Solidarity x

In my case tho, I say it’s a mis’dx b/c they directly removed my well established bipolar dx and withdrew treatment for it which (obviously) had severe consequences😶 vindicated now but if only they’d listened #IatrogenicHarm #BipolarNotPD
