My first Bollywood film in a theatre in almost a decade, and it was Ohh My Dog.
And I think I needed this particular film right now.
When so much of commercial Bollywood seems to be finding newer and louder ways to package hatred and vulgarity, Amit Rai chose to make a film about something incredibly simple: a child loving a dog, and a dog loving him back.
No cynicism. No hatred. Just this uncomplicated, ridiculous, beautiful love.
It felt almost radical.
And maybe that’s why I walked out feeling a little lighter. There is something healing about seeing tenderness given that much space when everything around you feels so angry.
I hope we learn to choose it more often. Not just with animals, but with people too. Even in politics. Especially in politics.
Thank you, Amit Rai and Pankaj Tripathi, for making something this gentle when being gentle feels increasingly rebellious.

The Supreme Court verdict is being misinterpreted to harass caregivers and harm community animals. Lynching, poisoning, beating to death, remain offences under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act
Most citizens support sterilisation, vaccination, and disease monitoring. Feeders fill an important vacuum created by inadequate sterilisation.
Today dogs are being killed and harmed without accountability and caregivers are being attacked and harassed .
A clear clarification from the Court that the verdict does not override existing animal protection laws will safeguard both animal welfare and citizens' rights.
