Incredible video of a #tornado that passed through Alaverdi, Kakheti region in eastern #Georgia after 13:00 UTC (17:00 local time).
The tornado was rated IF2 in the European Severe Weather Database (#ESWD) due to a car being overturned by the tornado. Two people in the car were injured and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
A local monastery was also hit and sustained roof damage.

How deadly are tornadoes in Italy?
From 2012 to 2023, there were 10 deaths and 309 injuries attributable to tornadoes.
Of 630+ events recorded by ESWD, 7 resulted with deaths (about 1%), 3 of them with more than one victim.

📊 W lutym 2024 r. do bazy naukowej #ESWD prowadzonej przez @essl_ecss zgłoszono łącznie 3861 raportów o wystąpieniu groźnych zjawisk atmosferycznych.
Wśród nich były głównie raporty o wystąpieniu silnego wiatru 💨, dużego gradu ☄️, trąb powietrznych (i wodnych) 🌪️, intensywnych opadów deszczu 🌧️, niszczących wyładowań atmosferycznych ⚡️ oraz lawin.
W bazie przeważały przede wszystkim raporty o silnym wietrze i intensywnych opadach (głównie w wyniku przejścia głębokiego niżu Louis przez zachodnią część Europy).
Ponadto zgłoszono 51 raportów o wystąpieniu dużego gradu oraz 26 trąb powietrznych (w tym 20 wodnych).
Również 26 osób poniosło śmierć w wyniku oddziaływania gwałtownych zjawisk atmosferycznych.
W Polsce zgłoszono łącznie 62 raporty – głównie dotyczące wystąpienia silnego wiatru oraz intensywnych opadów deszczu.

🇨🇾🌪️Ubiegłej nocy przez Germasogeia, dzielnicę #Limassol na Cyprze przeszło #tornado. Tornado zostało oszacowane na IF1.5 w międzynarodowej skali Fujity i zgłoszone do #ESWD.
Liczne drzewa i dachy uległy uszkodzeniu, tornado spowodowało również zawalenie żurawia wieżowego. Co najmniej jedna osoba odniosła obrażenia.
Burzy towarzyszyły również opady gradu o średnicy 2-4 cm.

🇲🇪🌪️ 12/02/2024 09:30 (+/- 15 min) – A beautiful #waterspout was observed near #Ulcinj, southeast #Montenegro.
This is the first waterspout observed in the Adriatic Sea in 2024 according to the #ESWD.
Last year, at least four documented waterspouts were observed from the Montenegro coast.
