As many of you know, the NHLA refrained from openly endorsing either Len Turcotte or Sherman Packard for speaker when the race was between the two. This was because both candidates would be able to work to enhance liberty in New Hampshire and would be acceptable from the NH Liberty Alliances' view. We did not want to even offer the appearance of favoritism, and it is our hope that we succeeded in not tipping the scales one way or another. It seems there are other candidates who are interested in the position, and it is the position of the NHLA that none of them will be as good for the cause of liberty as Sherman Packard. Sherman Packard brings the experience and efficiency we need to enact our agenda in 2025 and 2026. He has stated he is interested in serious fiscal responsibility to the budget, and we've been working with his team to try to accomplish this. In 2023 and 2024, despite a tied house, we managed to accomplish quite a bit for the cause of liberty while Sherman Packard was the speaker, and now that we have much more pro-liberty legislators, we are looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish in 2025 and 2026. Therefore, the NHLA is endorsing Sherman Packard for Speaker of the House and is encouraging all members of the NH Legislature to vote for him.
