@kiwanja #GoodIDChat When we launched our cash transfer program in Sudan that relies on a national ID, we started, in parallel, efforts to catalyze dialogue to improve the data governance and privacy framework. The Ministry of Telecom and Digital Transformation is taking this forward.
@GoodID @tundef @dcmukasa Even in the best system, it would be hard to tell what safeguards exist if there is no transparency. So we must think about digital ID not just from a tech perspective but as a governance issue #goodidchat

@GoodID @tundef @dcmukasa But governments could start by resolving statelessness. Then setting up institutions to govern ID.And generally make digital ID through rule of law, that promotes rights and mitigates risk. #GoodIDChat
Forget #digitalidentity, I'd love to hear an example of a government anywhere successfully building trust in *any* of their programs or systems. 🙄 #GoodIDChat
