We have been in contact with @duncan_place – a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation – about an event they are hosting tomorrow night where the poster reads: “Declare Leith a Zionist free zone.”
Appallingly, Duncan Place has decided that they will proceed with the event, despite our concerns over how this could impact the Jewish community.
Eight in ten British Jews consider themselves to be a Zionist. Only six percent do not.
They have provided the following statement:
“Duncan Place is an apolitical and multifaith venue that supports and welcomes all groups within its surrounding community to use the hub for meetings and gatherings. We are happy to allow any group to use our space providing this is a peaceful exercise and does not cause any disruption to other users, our staff or the community.”
We will be submitting a complaint to the @ScotCharityReg.
