#LocalContentBill Did you know if this bill passes? Equity investments by foreign entities in business would be eliminated Investment would be most likely through high interest bearing debt that requires intl collateral or @GovUganda backing @Comrade_Otoa @AmChamUganda

#LocalContentBill This National Local Content Bill will 1) STOP foreign investment in Uganda, 2) REMOVE foreign capital from the market, 3) INCREASE unemployment due to closing of businesses, and 4) INCREASE the cost of capital in Uganda (i.e. Lending Rate) @AmChamUganda

Idolising the west has done us a lot harm. We have lost faith in ourselves. In #Uganda, let's hope that @KagutaMuseveni will support the #LocalContentBill mooted by @Parliament_Ug days ago. There are some products that could perfectly be manufactured by #localindustries.
