@sarameghanbeery @doctorofrock) is used to filter blank images, and CT-DS can even be used with an automated taxonomic classifier (@WildInsights) with minimal bias.
I've pumped 37,166 #cameratrap images through the #megadetector algorithm in 2 days. 530k to go, but this is likely a game changer! Thanks @Microsoft

@sydney_goward Dang, I have no idea where it is! Also FWIW I have found that #Megadetector misses a fair number of animals in my nighttime shots, and not even bc theyβre deep in the background. Still worth it, though I think, and Always good to do a quick scan and double check the βblanksβ.

@UrbanZoochory created an urban species classifier in Toronto π¦πΆπ! She cropped her #CameraTrap images with #Megadetector and ran these images through a ResNet18. Tiziana also applied curriculum learning and adjusted loss weights to handle difficulties from imbalanced data π
@PeggyBevan2 looked at how the distribution of feature embeddings could reveal species richness. She used #Megadetector to crop animal images, ran those crops through ResNet50 models pre-trained on ImageNet and on CT images, and ran k-means to analyze optimal clusters ππ¦¬π
