The government has made several efforts to tackle the backlog, yet the problem persists because the real issue is deeper. What we lack is a culture of timely and efficient case management. Almost 3,500 years ago, Moses sat as a judge. One of the problems in his court was that as he sat, the people waited for their cases to be called "from morning to evening." So there was a backlog. "Why do you do this?" his father in law wondered. "Because I have the answer," Moses seems to have said. "I know the law. I am the one qualified to interpret it....." His father in law said,"What you are doing is not good." He proposed a solution; get honest people who qualify and let them handle some of these matters. Moses listened and "did everything his father in law had said." Colleagues, there you have it; Mission based judges straight from the Book of Exodus! This is actually the word of the Lord. The case backlog is a pressing crisis that must be addressed immediately. It's severely undermining the justice system, leaving the "Bank of Justice" effectively bankrupt.
