Finally, some good news on Hyderabad Metro! 🚇
60 new coaches are being procured for the existing Hyderabad Metro network. DMRC, which is handling the procurement, has invited tenders for bidding.
This was long overdue. Hyderabad Metro has been running over capacity for more than three years, with overcrowding a major concern for daily commuters.
Hope the procurement and deployment happen in a year or so giving commuters some much-needed relief.

Hundred Telangana Public Schools to Be Launched Across the State
Honourable Chief Minister Sri A. @revanth_anumula has directed officials to establish 100 Telangana Public Schools across 100 constituencies outside Hyderabad city from this academic year. These schools will be developed on a pilot basis, one in each constituency.
The Chief Minister instructed that the new schools must be developed on the lines of the Telangana Public School at Arutla in Manchal mandal, Rangareddy district, with comprehensive infrastructure including classrooms, playgrounds, qualified teaching staff and transport facilities. He made these remarks while reviewing the Education Department at the Command Control Centre.
He emphasized that government schools in Telangana must become benchmarks for quality education and stated that the government will not hesitate to allocate the required funds. Under the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) initiative, government schools will be constructed on par with corporate institutions using modern technology. The Chief Minister directed that 12 integrated new schools proposed under CURE be completed within one year. These schools should provide facilities comparable to institutions such as Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Jubilee Hills Public School. He also instructed that there should be no compromise in upgrading 17 schools and providing additional classrooms and facilities to 164 schools under CURE.
As part of the government’s 99-day programme, one full week will be dedicated to education-related activities. Public representatives and officials will visit schools and colleges to assess infrastructure gaps and ensure timely resolution.
Focus on Artificial Intelligence and Technology
In view of the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence globally, the Chief Minister directed officials to initiate AI education from the school level. Short-term training programmes will be organized for teachers and lecturers to equip them with AI knowledge. He stressed that students in Telangana must be prepared to seize global opportunities emerging from AI-driven changes. Necessary reforms will be introduced in the technical education curriculum accordingly.
From the academic year 2026–2027, breakfast will be provided to students in all government schools. Along with breakfast, milk will be supplied to every student, to be procured from Vijaya Dairy. The Chief Minister directed officials to use technology to monitor nutritional standards and calorie intake.
In addition to uniforms and textbooks, students will receive a comprehensive school kit from this year, including a school bag, pens, pencils, sharpeners, colour pencils, geometry box, dictionary, shoes and socks. Necessary budgetary allocations will be ensured.
Reforms in Higher and Technical Education
AI-based courses will be introduced immediately in polytechnic colleges and ATCs. Outdated courses will be removed, and steps will be taken to ensure that students completing these programmes secure employment opportunities in industries.
The Chief Minister assured that adequate funds will be allocated to all state universities. He recalled that Rs. 1,000 crore has already been sanctioned to Osmania University and directed the Higher Education Council Chairman to submit a report on the financial requirements of other universities.
Regulation of Private School Fees
The Telangana Private School Fee Regulatory Monitoring Commission presented its report to the Chief Minister, outlining models adopted in other states and recommendations for Telangana. The Chief Minister directed district-level inspections by Collectors and DEOs to submit reports on fee structures. At the state level, a committee headed by a retired judge or a retired Chief Secretary will serve as the final decision-making authority. A draft proposal on fee regulation will be placed in the public domain to seek feedback from parents, intellectuals and civil society representatives.

This is happening because @CumtaOfficial is tasked to address last mile gaps and did scientific assessment. CUMTA delivered @Chennai_One as well.
Every city must do the same. No point in building metros with tens of thousands of crores and not addressing last mile.
