At #rED25 the message is clear: rising SEND isn’t real, it’s “parent psychology.”
This framing is dangerous. It blames families, denies need, and gives schools cover to ignore statutory duties. SEND isn’t a fad — it’s a legal + human reality.
This is highly problematic. "Changing views" - in other words parents learning to navigate an opaque system to get the diagnoses & support their kids are *legally entitled to* Once again, Tom Bennett’s researchED organisation is the vehicle for prejudiced, exclusionary views.
Willingham's quip of stories being cognitively privileged doesn't apply to case studies.
