I was told to get undressed with no screen or gown to put on walk across the room - all with people watching and lie down on the bed. A complete repeat of our abuse as a child - where I would be then raped then loads more experiences #retraumatisation
My PhD interviews were integral to my research BUT it took months to plan fieldwork working w local communities to ensure lowest risk of #retraumatisation. Questions were vetted, emergency/mental health support services were identified if needed, & full #anonymisation was applied
There's no way to justify that behaviour, but everyone just goes along with it, leaving me with only crisis care - which can mean police at my door.
