I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a grave matter concerning the safety and well-being of Baloch students, particularly in the recent abduction of Fareed Baloch from Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan.
According to eyewitnesses and various reports, and Video proof, Fareed Baloch, a Master's student of Education, was forcibly disappeared by individuals in civilian attire in front of the university's security guards at Gate no 4. It is deeply alarming that such an incident occurred within the premises of a renowned academic institution.
We, the concerned members of the community, strongly condemn this act of harassment, intimidation, and abduction. This unfortunate event is not an isolated incident but rather part of a distressing pattern targeted against the Baloch student community. We believe it is vital to shed light on this matter and request your immediate attention and intervention.
We implore your esteemed organization to:
1. Investigate this incident promptly and thoroughly, ensuring a fair and impartial inquiry into Fareed Baloch's disappearance.
2. Urge the Pakistani authorities to release Fareed Baloch immediately and unconditionally, ensuring his safe return to his family and educational pursuits.
3. Advocate for an end to the profiling, harassment, and abduction of Baloch students on educational campuses.
4. Highlight this issue on international platforms, pressuring the Pakistani government to take immediate action against such human rights violations.
5. Collaborate with local human rights organizations and activists to amplify the voices of the affected Baloch students and ensure their protection.
By taking swift action, you can make a significant difference in safeguarding the basic rights and lives of Baloch students in Pakistan. We count on your commitment to human rights and your longstanding dedication to promoting justice and accountability worldwide.
Kindly acknowledge receipt of this urgent appeal and inform us of any actions you initiate in response to this matter. Thank you for your attention, and we eagerly await your positive intervention.
Yours sincerely,
Waja Sohrab Baloch
