Over the last two days, #USNORTHCOM and #USSOUTHCOM participated in Warfighter Talks, addressing hemipsheric approaches to hemispheric and homeland threats.
“We are linked with U.S. Southern Command by common threats, shared partners, competing resource demands, and the reality that defending the United States begins further and further away from the U.S. border. Our adversaries operate seamlessly across our areas of responsibility – seeing a single, continuous battlespace. It is time we operate with that same mindset. Through this week’s Warfighter Talks with USSOUTHCOM, we are strengthening our approach where two combatant commands can operate with shared purpose and without friction, collaborating across layers and zones," said Gen. General Gregory M. Guillot, commander North American Aerospace Defense Command (#NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (#USNORTHCOM), visited Pituffik Space Base, Greenland following a week of engagements with Supreme Headquarters Allied Partners Europe (#SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium; the U.S. and Canadian Ambassadors to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (#NATO) in Brussels, Belgium; and the U.S. Ambassador to Denmark and the Danish Chief of Defense in Copenhagen, Denmark. The discussions focused on Arctic security integration, based on close coordination with the Kingdom of Denmark and NATO. The Arctic is crucial to the security of all NATO Allies.

As part of its Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) mission, #USNORTHCOM stands ready to protect lives, property, and natural resources.
This week, April 20-24, military aircrews from the California Air National Guard's @146AirliftWing, Nevada Air National Guard's 152nd Airlift Wing, and Air Force Reserve's @302AirliftWing are conducting annual Modular Airborne Firefighting Systems (#MAFFS) recertification training at McClellan Airtanker Base in Sacramento, Calif., alongside the USDA Forest Service and CAL FIRE.
These elite crews and their C-130 Hercules aircraft are capable of dropping up to 3,000 gallons of fire retardant in less than 10 seconds— providing a critical surge capability to help slow the spread of devastating wildfires.
When all commercial air tankers are fully committed and when requested by the @NIFC_Fire, USNORTHCOM's unique military assets are prepared to respond quickly and effectively to minimize human suffering, protect lives and property.
Residents near the Tahoe National Forest may observe low-flying C-130 aircraft and lead planes throughout the week as practice water drops are conducted.

The leaders and their staff reviewed the accomplishments of the Information Sharing Board and went over planned activities for 2026 in operations against Narco Terrorist!!
Last month on January 13th, Brig. Gen. Steven Gorski, Director of Intelligence and Information for NORAD and #USNORTHCOM, traveled to Mexico City to meet leaders from Mexico’s Secretariat of National Defense (@Defensamx1 ) and Mexico’s Secretariat of the Navy (@SEMAR_mx). The leaders and their staff reviewed the accomplishments of the Information Sharing Board and went over planned activities for 2026. Additionally, they held discussions surrounding the World Cup 2026 information sharing center events, which will be hosted by the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
This marked the first time Gen Gorski meets with the Defensa and Marina leaders since being assigned to his current position. This meeting focused on strengthening regional security under the principles of transparency, shared and differentiated responsibility, mutual trust, and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

On behalf of the Department of War, #USNORTHCOM hosted the 11 Cities Summit on January 13–14 at Hotel Polaris in Colorado Springs. The summit, which included more than 200 participants, provided a collaborative platform for host cities, states, and federal agencies to establish a shared understanding of host city plans, federal capabilities, and the processes for requesting and providing federal support to ensure the safe and successful execution of the World Cup matches.
“The mission to ensure the safety and security of World Cup 2026 is reflective of every USNORTHCOM mission – it will take integration with the Interagency, state and local government teammates, allies and partners to ensure success,” said Gen. Gregory Guillot, Commander of NORAD and USNORTHCOM.
Additionally, Rear Admiral Newkirk, NORAD and USNORTHCOM, Director of Strategy, Policy & Plans (J5), emphasized the importance of bringing everyone together to understand each other’s capabilities.
“One of the core missions for USNORTHCOM is Defense Support of Civil Authorities. The U.S. military brings unique capabilities to consequence management. We can do things in speed, at scale, and with manpower.” said Newkirk. “There is a process associated with that, and the faster one can operate in that process, the faster we can bring folks what they need.”
Participants included representatives from @FIFAcom, the @WHTaskForceFIFA, U.S. Government interagency—such as @DHSgov, @DeptofWar, @FBI — and officials from the 11 host cities: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle.

This month, members from the Mexican Secretariat of National Defense (@Defensamx1), the Secretariat of the Navy (@SEMAR_mx), and from #USNORTHCOM, participated in a 4-day Information Sharing Board (ISB) Working Group. This activity was conducted at the facilities of Defensa in Mexico City, as part of the Bilateral Military Cooperation Roundtable (BMCR) framework established between the U.S. and Mexico since 2016.
During the working group, ISB members evaluated planned activities for 2026, refined enduring critical information elements, and addressed the design of the ISB’s future integrated communications and information-sharing portal. The discussions also emphasized the importance of an integrated data information sharing center for FIFA World Cup 2026 events, which will be hosted across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, Secretary of National Defense of Mexico (@Defensamx1), and Adm. Raymundo Pedro Morales Ángeles, Secretary of the Navy of Mexico (@SEMAR_mx), in Mexico City.
Together, the leaders held discussions surrounding current and upcoming training opportunities while reinforcing key principles: transparency, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, shared and differentiated responsibility, and mutual trust.
