🚘 BP Vito Fossella issued the following statement regarding the City ending its pursuit of #UniversalDaylighting :
“Finally, a dose of common sense from the City, which seems to be putting Universal Daylighting in the dustbin where it belongs.
As we’ve been saying since it was first proposed, one size does not fit all, especially when it comes to parking.
To eliminate 50,000 parking spots from Staten Island where we depend on our cars would have been a bad, reckless policy. Those who continue to support that “Anti-Car, Anti-Staten Island” policy do not have our best interests at heart.
We have always supported a case-by-case basis approach to make intersections more safe, and we appreciate that the City is making that approach the norm.”

Sadly, Queens continues to lead NYC in a stat no one wants to lead in.
